The future of Magnon.

In these times of trouble and uncertainty, I look at the picture of my boys (grandsons), and they give me hope.

The world is theirs, and they should grasp every opportunity. I don't expect any of them to search-out fame or great wealth, just a good life with a family, and a healthy bank balance at the end of each year. I hope they will simply become good citizens, and pleasant people.

I don't know where this photo was taken (other than it was in Oz); but it's missing the two smaller cousins Boo Boo and Micha. All the boys are good friends, and the bigger ones look after the smaller; just as it should be.

Seeing as the above are all roughly 10 years old, it will be at least another 10 years before their lives show definitive directions. I do hope I'm still around to see what happens, but who knows!

Lovely grandsons, with their lives ahead of them. Your hope they should became good citizens and pleasant people rates high on my scale of values for these young fellows as well.

The long hand of fate plays a big part in our lives. May it go well for these fine boys.

You are blessed.

All nice boys.... no girls!

I certainly wouldn't wish them 'fame'.

Me too Parsnip. Brightens my day.

I do hope so; they're starting off well.

I think they're blessed too. They have a real 'family' outlook.

Great photo. They all look so happy. 4 ten year olds, quite a bundle. Can imagine how happy they make you.

I love chatting to them (when they can be bothered), they are all so funny.

Happy, healthy and hansome young boys! You have a tight-knit family and this is wonderful. The boys have learnt good values and, it shows; they get on very well together. Well done to you, Lady M and their parents.

They look so happy and handsome.

They are all very similar in many ways; I think that's why they get on so well. Typical 10-year-olds.

I think they must have either been in a hotel or a rental home. Holidays are always fun; especially with your best friends/cousins.

I am not sure I want to be around in ten years time - when you get to my age so much depends upon one's state of health. At present I am reasonably mobile and one of the friends I lunch with each Sunday is ninety seven next week and almost runs around (and went to California last year to see her grandson) - health and mobility are everything in old age.

Incidentally said friend has never eaten a vegetable in her life!!!

I remember a 100 year old lady saying that her secret to a long healthy life was good red meat, and Gin and Tonic. Sounds good to me!

I hope you have the health and strength to see how they develop and that they all bring you much joy.

It is a blessing that you've gotten to know them and them you... so many of us never knew our grandparents.

A really nice family photo. I would guess the city in the background is Brisbane or Surfers Paradise.

Cro Magnon said...

Probably Surfers; they rented a house there when visiting my youngest in Broad beach.

Cro Magnon said...

I'm one of those Rian. I may have met one or two when I was a wee tot, but I didn't know any of them.

Cro Magnon said...

I shall certainly attempt to Graham. It's a major part of being a grandparent.

Cro Magnon said...

Me too Jean, but maybe not too long.

Cro Magnon said...

More to do with the et al methinks!

Cro Magnon said...

They are great fun, it's just a pity there aren't any female cousins for them to pamper.

Cro Magnon said...

I'll second that!

Cro Magnon said...

It really is an unexpected joy; something no-one warns you about.

Beautiful boys, Cro! I have 3 grands...One girl and two boys. My oldest grandson is in his last year of college. I'm proud of him. They all have my love (obsession) of books & reading. I gave them books all their lives & read to them often. Our favorite outings are to bookstores. I've indoctrinated them well. LOL! My work on earth is done. xo
