It's at moments like this that I'm grateful for the time we spent in the summer picking blackberries with the children, it's just a pity they're not here to enjoy them with us.
True, it's the season of mince pies and plum pudding, but nothing beats a Blackberry and Apple Crumble.
Now where's that pot of thick clotted cream? Diet be damned.
Lady M really does make an extremely good Crumble.

It looks so tasty.
Custard is what I would serve with it, but perhaps that is a 'north of the Wash' thing. The crumble looks great.
It was SO GOOD.
I love it when the juices all spill out and it gets very sticky - yum.
Crumble! The best pud in the world. Well, one of the best, anyway.
I like the crumble to be a tiny bit burned (caramelised) as well.
We all need a treat every now and then and that looks so yummy.
Looks like a delicious reminder of summer. We have blackberries in the freezer too and they have the same destiny.
I see you're a 'Green Acres' fan! I haven't seen it for years.
Not fair !
And it freezes brilliantly Cro -I always have one in the freezer to bring out in case of emergencies. I think blackberry and apple probably works best of all - although raspberry is a close second.
Looks good...I can almost smell it from here.
I'll be over right away for a piece of that lovely crumble (What bright color!) Please make my coffee black and strong.
Agree wholeheartedly. Best pud ever. Hot served with ice cream is my preference tho. Yummy!
