Half Bike, Half Honesty.

'Irish theme pubs' were popular in the UK in recent times (maybe they were elsewhere too), and outside every 'Irish theme pub' you would find an old bicycle chained to the wall. Presumably this was supposed to represent some romantic idea of Irish rural life (for those who still wear green or rose tinted glasses).

Lady Magnon's bike hasn't seen Le Tarmac for yonks, and has now become part of the greenery. I was thinking of taking it to the local dump, but I think I'll just leave it where it is.

Anyway, just behind the saddle is a Blackbird's nest, so it can't be moved.

RIP (rust in peace) old bone-shaker.

  1. Outdoor art. Or something. Definitely not to be moved now that the blackbird family is in residence.

  3. Look on it as a bold post-apocalyptic gardening statement - nature defeating technology.

The unicycle is a much more ecologically sound beastie anyway - uses less than half of the resources during manufacture.

  7. I feel guilty about my bike gathering dust in the barn. Too many hills round here! Sad too when I see two 'junior' bikes in the shadows untouched for over a decade.

  9. I think it looks very aesthetic where it is and the honesty is gorgeous, just got to wait for the purses now.

  11. This image is right up T. Clear's alley! The beauty of 'junk.' A shipwreck festooned with algae and neon fish nibbling away.

    1. T would have been much more artistic. Mine's just a photo.

  13. Sort of a "found art" look. I like it.

  14. Some people pay big money to have lawn art that looks like that.
