Bloomin' Miracle.

Being a complete gardening ignoramus, I'm amazed by how well all our flowers are doing this year.

Of course I have no idea what most of them are, but they sure do look good.

The Ice Saints are now upon us. Saints Mamertus, Pancras, and Servatius (11th, 12th and 13th May respectively) herald an end to night time frosts, and our fruit, flowers, and vegetables, will now go unpunished. We should have a very productive year.

A lovely show of flowers - I don't believe you are a gardening ignoramus. What I want to know is how you can be so sure you won't have late frosts?

Because of superstition! The 'Ice Saints' never fail us.

I hope those ice saints play fair. They can be unpredictable, I hear.

I like the sound of the Ice Saints. With my slap dash approach to gardening I am truly grateful for anything that grows.

Me too! I'm exclusively a fruit-n-veg chap.

We have others. One is a fantastic dark blue, but I was too late to take photos.

Wow. Your garden is so far ahead of ours. I won't see iris for another month yet (that would be the glorious orange & yellow thing in pic 4, and the icy queen in pic 2 - I'm an iris junkie).

Wish I could send you some of our craft stout, to enjoy whilst sitting out among your posies.

That white Iris is amazingly 'blousy'. That Stout of yours looks, and sounds, delicious.

All beautiful. My yard is in full bloom now, too!

beautiful blooms, my friend. Looks as if you have a couple of iris varities going on there. Spring has sprung.

Beautiful!!! Those white Irises are just gorgeous! Even though it has been a tad cool in the mornings, I think our frosts are finally over.
