How does a small tyre, complete with inner tube, come to be lying on the grass outside the garden gate at Haddock's.
No doubt there is a logical answer, but for the moment I fail to see it.
I'm now waiting for someone to knock on the door to ask if I've found it.
It looks agricultural to me; but then there's not much around here that isn't!
It's mine. We've had very high winds here lately and the tires we were saving for our Earth ship house sort of rolled off. Forgive me.
ReplyDeleteI haven't got an envelope big enough to send it back!
DeleteAliens from space in disguise lost a tyre hitting that pothole in the road by your garden.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
I'll be on the look-out for a spaceship with a tyre missing.
DeleteThat's wheely strange.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's a very tyre-ing joke.
DeleteYou now have a spare tyre...
ReplyDeleteLX
I had one already; unfortunately.
DeleteWe once found a swimming pool ladder on our lawn????????
ReplyDeleteHad someone stolen your pool?

You'll have to fight with Donna for its return!
DeleteIt fell off the back of a lorry - obviously!
ReplyDeleteObviously.
DeleteThe little tyre and its tube are lying on your grass....
ReplyDeletebecause....
wait for it......

.
they are tired!!
{...and, no, I am not sorry!!}
Dear oh dear.... too tyre-some.
DeleteMwah ahaha!!
DeleteI think someone was about to take the inner tube out and use it in your swimming pool, but were disturbed in the night.
ReplyDeleteSo, I should look for a very thin person.
DeleteA bird dropped it !!! 🕊 XXXX
ReplyDeleteProbably a Stork; as it's a baby tyre.
DeleteMYSTERY NOW SOLVED! I've been speaking with a neighbour, and it seems as if it fell off his hay turning machine. He hadn't noticed that it was missing until he'd got home. He was happy to have it back.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say something along those lines but as everybody seemed to be having so much fun I decided to keep quiet.
DeleteIt HAD to come off something agricultural. We just couldn't work out what.
DeleteIt looks like a wheelbarrow tyre to me, but I note, problem solved. Sadly I could not think of anything witty to say.
ReplyDeleteIs there anything witty to say about a tyre?
DeleteBetter a tire than a toilet. Glad your mystery has been solved.
ReplyDeleteWith the strong winds and storms we have had in the spring, we have found quite a few of our neighbor’s belongings in our back yard.
We once lost a large parasol in a storm; it was never seen again.
DeleteAfter the hurricane on Lewis in 2005 people were reporting garden sheds having been deposited in their gardens - a tyre is a mere bauble in comparison.
ReplyDeleteFor 'shock value' this might well have been a garden shed, it was that strange.
