Traffic.
The tiny settlement in which I live contains 3 houses, and a rarely-occupied small log cabin. But between us we have 9 vehicles; only ONE of which is ours. Too many?
I admit to having three vehicles once upon a time. One, my toy (Miata), second, a small pickup truck for everyday use, and third a large pickup truck for pulling the horses. It was a pain in the butt keeping up with the oil changes and inspections (not to mention cost of insurance).
I guess that is typical of most homes these days there are few with just one car,we have 2 one is the work 4 wheel drive as where I deliver mail it is in 4 wheel drive the entire time so its not just a fashion thing lol and then we have my little car that I take Mum to appointments etc in it runs on fresh air almost and I love it and we have our bike for playtime which is rare these days so I guess that is equal to 3!

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!
How many old 2CVs being used as chicken-houses?
ReplyDeleteNone! They've all recently been removed. I think the value of scrap metal must have increased.
ReplyDeleteIt seems these days that everyone is running off in different directions. They probably need the extra vehicles.
ReplyDeleteWhen the kids were teenagers our driveway looked like a parking lot. Now we have just one car. Kinda lonely now.
