We've been doing this for quite a while. When work allows, Kimbo and I will have quite spectacular breakfasts together, at about 6 am, or before; usually on a Wednesday.
Before catching his early train to London, he will pop in for a 'Full English', and we sort-out the world's problems for 20 mins or so. It's become something of a tradition.
Kimbo's been down in S W France for a few days. He flew to Bordeaux, picked-up a hire car, spent a few days at the cottage, then returned to Bordeaux on Sunday evening. He was staying overnight in Bordeaux, so I suggested he visit Rick Stein's favourite restaurant La Tupina. Anyone who has seen his programme 'Long Weekends' will remember him visiting La Tupina. He ate Grattons with radishes, and their famous Côte de Boeuf. Kimbo sent me an amazing photo of their wine list which included two different vintages of Pétrus. I think he plumped for a good Péchamant instead. Here he is (below) at the restaurant chatting with the new lady chef.

What a lovely idea ... not sure I could eat that much so early in the morning though!
Why ‘lady chef’ ?
Why no ‘fragrant’ ?
Sounds delightful but that breakfast would play havoc with my poor battered digestive system, not to mention my blood pressure too I would imagine!
Your breakfast sounds wonderful, but like Lizzie, I couldn't eat that much ( at any time of the day!) Good news that your French home is still as it should be.
Another perfect breakfast. I'd wash all that down, except the beans, with some good coffee.
Nothing wrong with my stomach, or yours and Kimbos.
Good news that all is well with your French home.
We force ourselves!
I believe she's new at the restaurant. I have no idea if she's 'fragrant' or not.
It does with mine too, but I sacrifice myself at the altar of gastronomy.
Yes, we're no longer confident about its safety as we used to be. France has become lawless and 'angry'. It never used to be like that.
Yes, we're very happy that we've not been broken into this year. I hope they go elsewhere.
Doesn't her ladyship come down to join you for these breakfasts or does she prefer to remain snoring between the sheets? Though he is your son, it sounds as though Kimbo is also a great friend.
She probably smells of grattons.
We love a full English but now find it too much to have for breakfast. Instead we have it for dinner (our evening meal) about once a month. Glad to hear all is well in France.
It IS a bit much but every so often.....
I expect 'Jane from Dorset' wants me to be 'woke', so they is, or are, the new chef of indistinguishable gender.
Lady M is still either in the Land of Nod, or sipping Tea in bed. She wouldn't eat a breakfast like ours anyway. Yes, Kimbo and I are great buddies.
The breakfast sounds excellent but I would replace the beans with a grilled tomato and would only eat after a walk.
Sounds lovely but I couldn't eat that early. I'm like a baby, I need feeding every 4 hours... at that rate I'd be having lunch at 10 am and dinner at 2pm. Then I'd be starving all evening as I wouldn't allow myself to eat a fourth meal at 6pm, I only ever have three!
My son insists on having beans. I wouldn't bother, but he loves them.
I normally eat at 5 am, so 6 am, for me, is a little late. Then we have lunch at 11.30 am, and supper at around 6.30 pm.
Beans for breakfast is very much a UK thing. Nothing wrong with it, just not common outside of the UK. You are enlightened in many ways, think of it as Woke if you wish, but you are a educated and modern in many ways.
I'd never thought about beans and their international appeal. I suspect you're right.
It sounds like you and Kimbo enjoy your early morning breakfasts together. You likely set the world right.
Thank goodness your home in France is secure.
We're about to set the world right again in 45 mins. Yes, we're very relieved (so far) about the house.
