Yael, if you look for 'and did those feet in ancient time' in Wiki, you will see the origin of the song, and of Jesus's visit to England. Of course, it may all be myth.
Know why you are playing something as uplifting as Jerusalem... keep your chin up lad, keep it up! Sad to say it, but is it time to up sticks and go to the other end of the pitch? Good luck and commiserations about yesterday's news!!
Of course I first read what was written about the poem, here we say that everyone has their own Jerusalem, in a symbolic sense, and it is probably also in this poem. There is something empowering about it and that is good.
I used to love going into assembly at school and seeing that we would be singing Jerusalem ...... one of my favourite hymns..... I know it off by heart. XXXX
Dear Cro, I'm just back from France and was shocked to read what happened to your own French idyll. I can't imagine how you and Lady Magnon will manage to set things to rights from afar.
Lady M and Kimbo fly out to Toulouse in a couple of hours. They will do their best over the weekend, and return on Monday. All the locks have been changed and the house made 'secure' again. It just remains to see what damage has been done.

From here, the closest to Jerusalem, I think of you and hope that the world will be better place.
Thank you Yael.
Stunning photographs.

A beautiful hymn with such wonderful scenery. The best of your country
Thank you. Yes I'm still reeling from the shock. This lifted my spirits.
It's pulled me out of my depression.
That was always my favourite.

It is surprising that the MKM Stadium in Hull was not amongst those lovely images.
Are you a WI member?
And a certain small street in Brighton.
I don't feel old enough yet!
It has almost become England's National Anthem.

I do think it would make the perfect 'English' National Anthem; keeping GSTK as the UK anthem.
Beautiful hymn! I hope you are feeling a bit better today. Take Bill out for extra walks and maybe even some time by the sea will be enjoyable.
Yes, it's been quite sunny (and rainy) today so we've stayed outdoors chatting to friends more than we usually do.

Brings tears to my eyes each time I hear it.
