MONTY PYTHON • SALAD DAYS

The very first 'musical' I went to see was Salad Days. I must have been about 10, and went around singing a few of the songs for ages after. I also have a feeling that it was the occasion of my wearing long trousers for the first time too.

Anyway, here is a very short Monty Python version. Enjoy!

    1. That's English humour for you. I found it quite amusing.

  3. Second laugh of the day after Rachel's comment on my post, I remember Salad Days well. I am an opera fan but have never been to a 'Musical' - did sing in Gilbert and Sullivan for a few years - a can still do a pretty good 'Buttercup'.

    1. I've been to very few musicals. I did see 'Half a Sixpence' with (I think) Joe Brown; not Tommy Steele, as in the film.

  4. In my own salad days, I ate salad... with water cress.

    1. I thought water cress came from Hampshire.

    2. No. It came from the green grocer's shop.

  5. 🤣😂🤣 ...... they were so good. One of my favourite Monty Python spin offs was Ripping Yarns ... Michael Palin was so good in it ! Also just wanted to say how beautiful Kimbo's photographs were of Egypt. ... I have been in a hot air ballon which was fun but not quite as spectacular ! XXXX

    1. I agree about Ripping Yarns, They are worthy of re-runs, in place of most of the rubbish on TV.

  6. Not the funniest sketch, but the apologies at the end made me laugh - much more typical of their humour.

    1. Totally 'over the top' this one. As you say, not their funniest.

  7. Yes, they should repeat Ripping Yarns - just about everything else that's ever been made has been repeated over the years!
