My boys.

Boo Boo and The Cherub are now well installed into Aussie life.

They love their school, and they have begun to play Tennis, and are learning Judo.

This, below, shows them celebrating their mother's (Kellogg) birthday. I believe they had chosen a seafood restaurant where they ate a never-ending supply of giant Lobsters, etc; they loved it.

The boys live in Gold Coast on the East coast of Australia, to the South of Brisbane. It's an extremely pleasant place to live, with a fabulous beach, and just about every amenity you could wish for. A place where one could very easily become a part-time beach-bum, eat BBQ'd Prawns all day, and surf forever on perfect waves.

We miss our boys terribly. Lady M especially loved cooking for, and with, them; which they adored. Her 'Cheesy Pasta' was, and remains, an absolute favourite. I wouldn't be surprised if she jets-off to see them sometime soon, with cheese and pasta in hand.

I'm not sure when I'll see them again, but we speak via WhatsApp quite regularly.

They seem to be growing-up quite well without me. I wonder what they will become?

  1. Hey Cro. Your grandsons look lovely. But just to be a bit pedantic, they live on the Gold Coast (two words), on the east coast of Australia. If they were on the equivalent latitude on the west coast they would be somewhere north of Geraldton in Western Australia.
With greetings from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.
    Frances :-)

  2. Both of them are cherubs. Ftoo ftoo ftoo. Lucky boys to grow up in such an idyllic environment. But they need their Grumps and lots of that cheesy pasta.
Hope you see them again before they shoot up too much

    1. It seems only a while ago that I was planting their 'birth day' apple trees.

  6. Geographical mobility has created laments of separation in millions of families. If you have enough gold you should travel to The Gold Coast with your missus. Billy will understand.

    1. Lady M might go at some time, but me and Billy will stay home and eat thin gruel.

    2. Lady M could make twenty evening meals for you and pop them in the freezer in labelled plastic boxes.

  7. Nice boys. It won't be too long before they'll be able to visit you and travel on their own!

    1. I look at them and try to imagine what they'll become. Of course I'll be totally wrong, but it's fun to speculate.

  10. The boys are growing up quickly. I remember when they enjoyed riding bikes and building forts in France while visiting with you. Their interests and hobbies must be quite different now.

    1. They like Judo, but I think their favourite pastime is Tennis. Maybe they'll become famous players!

  11. Handsome lads. I've 3 grandsons of my own still at school and it's hard not to wonder what their lives will be like but I try not to. It must be terribly difficult for you both to have them so far away. That said children have their own lives to live don't they and as long as they are happy.

    1. As long as I speak to them occasionally on WhatsApp I'm happy. I don't want them to forget me; yet.

    2. It's a good attitude to have. I know people who have grandchildren much nearer who rarely or never see them. That said I do hope you get to see your younger grandsons soon. It'll be time for the older ones to visit you before you know it!

    3. We'll have the four older ones together with us for Christmas this year.

  12. They really are very beautiful boys. I understand Lady M completely. Grandmothers are a force of their own. Don't try to step between her and a visit with those boys. You could get hurt.

  13. Make sure they are aware of the sea dangers at certain times, blue-ringed octopus for example which give a very nasty painful sting and some jellyfish ditto. But they have seasons, not there all the time. The Gold Coast is a very Ritzy area, nice to visit but I couldn't afford to live there.
    They are beautiful boys.

    1. I'm sure they've been given warnings about the wildlife. As we say over here; everything that lives wild in Oz wants to kill you!
