Last night we went to see The Beatles; not the real Beatles but the Bootleg ones.
Below are not-George, not-Paul, not-Ringo, and not-John, recreating the famous Zebra-crossing picture.
I wasn't sure what to expect from a tribute band such as this, but I needn't have worried; they were fantastic, and put-on a really superb show. They even look like the originals, and changed their hair length and clothes throughout the show to reflect the era of the songs as they went from the early to the later ones.
If they come your way, and you like The Beatles music, I really recommend you go. A great night out. Thank you Kimbo.
I have only met one of the original bunch; Paul McCartney. He was 'walking-out' with Jane Asher at the time, and she lived in Harley St, just up the road from the Art Gallery I was managing. Paul used to pop in to 'browse' on his way to see her.
My boss, Miklos, took photos of me and Paul, then discovered he had no film in the camera. What a bloody plonker. I would have treasured them.

Oh shame about the photos. Perhaps Paul would like to come back and pose with you again?
Believe me, I was furious. It was part of the reason I handed in my notice.
I was queuing to pay in Harrods one Christmas. The people in front of me had asked the cashier something and she'd disappeared for ages. I was getting more and more impatient. I turned to look for her...and came face to face with Paul. And I had my angry face on! He looked a bit startled and turned away before I could readjust my features. Noooooo!
It must have felt quite strange going out to a gig last night.
He's very pleasant and very approachable. He even gave me a lift once!
It's been a long time. We had a fabulous evening.
I have heard that The Bootleg Beatles are very good but when they came to Sheffield City Hall a few years back the ticket prices repelled me. How wonderful that you met Paul McCartney in his heyday.
Just lucky that Paul's girlfriend lived very nearby. I didn't ask the cost of tickets, the evening was a Christmas present.
As with my meat loaf gig on Friday ,it’s nice todo something different
It's been a long time since I've been out to a concert like this. I should do it more often.
With today's technology being what it is you why not photoshop McCartney and yourself into the same frame.
U
I don't do that sort of thing. Not Cricket!
Your evening at the concert sounds like a big win.
It was 'Fab'.
Hope you had a mask on.
I'd have enjoyed it. I paid a fortune to see Mark Knopfler, he was okay but then thirty years ago he was new.
More trouble than it's worth.
Show us your skills Ursula.
I probably would have passed out if Paul McCartney came my way. From a distance in that photo, they certainly look like the real thing. I'm glad you enjoyed the show.
Love,
Janie
Knopfler is good; one of the best.
They looked excellent on stage, although it was difficult to see 'Ringo'.
It sounds like a wonderful show. I look back and think that those were the good old days, but I guess it's normal to remember things as being better than they really were.
My mum came face to face with him in Debenhams once ..she saud she wasnt sure at first because he had a long scruffy coat on ..she stared and he jovially said yes I'm Paul Mcartney love .So nice of him .
We all should
I believe he has a lovely heart. Consider writing to Paul with the no film story. I feel if he's ever in your area, then he will stop by or call to meet for a photo of you two.
Ah...but I do remember that you and Mrs. M got married after John and Yoko. That little detail has always stuck in my mind.
They really WERE the good old days. I remember as each of their albums were issued we were all amazed how wonderful every song was. Nothing has matched them since!
He used to have a house not far away, on Hove seafront, I'm not sure if he's still there,
My oldest was recently married in the same place, and looked at the registry. There we all were!
I shall have to find these Bootleg Beatles on Youtube. I'm happy to read that Paul McCartney is a nice person in real life. I wonder if he ever comes to Australia these days? I probably wouldn't recognise him now.
