Pasta Pronto.

I'm not a fan of 'fast foods', but for Signor Rana I make an exception.

Just occasionally I'm just far too busy to have concocted some gourmet dinner, so I instantly resort to one of Mr Rana's delicious Tortellini packs; always either the above, or some cheese filling; never anything with meat.

These wonderful little gems take just 2 mins to cook, and accompanied by a very simple tomato sauce (not too much), they make a wonderful meal. The pack above is plenty for two.

I like Signor Rana. Not only does his factory make some of the finest pasta in Italy, but he also runs a chain of restaurants where they serve nothing but his products. It is well known that Giovanni himself eats at a different restaurant almost every day (unannounced) to ensure that the quality is perfect.

If Rana products are available near you (and I expect they are); I can recommend them.

I'm not on commission!

    1. Surprisingly good, and the packs last well in the fridge.

  3. That looks tasty. I don't know if they are available in our supermarket, I am usually a bit wary of these 'ready-meal' products.

    1. So am I, but in these times when we visit the shops less often, a pack of these in the fridge is not a bad idea.

  6. But Signor Rana's media managers have read your post and alerted him, and complimentary servings are in the post as I type. Of late Household Management has become very tired of cooking each evening. At times we buy takeaway, but we have also tried frozen supermarket meals. Our Australian supermarket, probably foreign owned were really good and just required heating in the oven in their containers. While the Aldi version was good enough, they had to be cooked in other pans etc, so nearly as bad as cooking from scratch.

  7. I always have some of these in my fridge for the days that I don’t want to cook. We like basil pesto sauce and sun dried tomatoes on them and it is a very satisfying meal and just the right amount for two people.

  8. According to Google it is available in all grocery stores in my small mountain town in Arizona, USA. I will look for it.

  9. If I ever see that brand here I'll buy them. I like toretllini and ravioli but the only ones we find here are in the dried pastas section. I have seen them fresh in Athens.

  10. I've forgotten about tortellini. I must look again. Sort of salty, though.
