La Potterie Provencale Ceramic production in Biot.

This lovely old-fashioned pottery in Biot, Provence, is where I ordered my green glazed plates, that we use for 'special' occasions. I found this short video totally fascinating.

I now rather regret that I didn't order some small side plates to go with them.

I keep looking for something suitable, but as yet no luck. I may have to go to a local Pottery Fair, and get someone to make some for me.

Definitely.. support your local potter..I'm sure that they would be making something to complement those plates.

They are very pretty.

When I am laying the table and we have guests I am always surprised by the weight of a dinner plate. Grabbing 4 or more with one hand is a bit of a struggle with arthritis having sits little games. If I win the lottery I think I would go for porcelain .....

I do go to local potters for all sorts of things; I've even had roof pinnacles specially made for me.

They're lovely to use. Everything looks so inviting on them.

It's a beautiful green; very Provencal.

My preference is for rustic pottery. You're right, they can be heavy, but peasant folk were built to carry big piles of them!

I have admired those plates before. There seems to be nothing like them in England. I looked for them at the Cley Pottery but even they didn't have them. Perhaps I should have asked them to make me one.

I do appreciate the color of your plates, they are so lovely! But that video blew me away.

I'm very glad I had them made for us; we love using them. I expect it was the man in the video who made them; M Augé-Laribé.

What skill and invention. I would never have imagined they were made that way.

I bought some rather similar but in a deep blue from a roadside pottery deep in the Turkish countryside many years ago. Have always regretted not buying more than I did.

I love them! I like a plate to look inviting.

What happened to your post about the spare heir and his celebutard wife?

That sounds equally good. I love finding potters who make things that are not only useful, but are also beautiful.

It's amazing how they affect your appetite and enjoyment!

I found it rather boring, and I think others did too.
