At the Vet's.

Billy is a member of an exclusive VIP canine treatment club, and actually has private consultations. In fact it's a money saving scheme, with certain benefits. It wouldn't surprise me if he'll receive a birthday card too. I'm sure you get the idea.

Here is just after we'd arrived for his yesterday's consultation; trying to escape.

The reason for his visit was to have a thorough health-check, and to arrange a date for his 'snip'.

Poor boy, his family jewels will be removed on Tuesday 17th. I haven't had the heart to mention it to him!

I have a feeling he may make life difficult for them.

Oh dear, poor Billy. I'm sure he will forgive you - eventually!

He probably won't talk to us for months!

Tell him you'll just be taking him to the vet to be tutored.

Do you promise that he'll be fooled?

He'll love you for it.

His eyes say everything.A lot is going in his mind.

I hope he doesn't bite the Vet'.

He was very nervous, his back legs were trembling.

Oh, poor scared puppy. Those big eyes! He'll be much better off for getting the snip, as you know. He's going to need some extra TLC though!

Got me wondering whether the U.K. has similar club for dogs, like a gentlemen’s club only far superior!

The wee snip is the best thing you can do for Billy. The world would be a better place if many men had the snip.

I don't blame him. I would be the same.

I think I can guarantee he'll get plenty of sympathy and treats.

It's very chic... we even had a very pretty Vet' looking at him.

I just hope it calms him a little; he's a bit noisy and boisterous at the moment.

It is best to get that handsome boy clipped as I am sure the lady dogs would find him irresistible.

My Annie is just past 3 months now. I appreciate 'noisy and boisterous'. It is all part of the process. When my boys were teenagers, they, too, were 'noisy and boisterous'. They've turned into fine young men now - and so will Billy. Good for you on the surgery. It is a simple surgery, with tremendous long term benefits for the pet. Extra treats and hugs.... You will survive - but you might need new furniture.

We're mostly hoping it'll calm him a bit. He hasn't shown too much interest in Lady Dogs as yet.

I'm sure the long term benefits are huge. I just want it be over with, and hope that he doesn't blame me for the indignity!

I always had the snip done as early as possible and the chip implanted at the same time. The long term benefits are so important plus it is harder on the lady gud dug.
He is so beautiful.

We've had all our dogs 'done' at about 8 months. I hope Billy appreciates this!

Best thing for either sex - all my dogs have been 'done'

Aw, snap! If you're seeing these often try these suggestions.

It'll save you money in the long run. Our dog licence is half the price of an intact dog's. Over the course of a life time that's several hundred dollars.

How many times a year does he have his consultations?

Cro Magnon said...

It's my wife who insists.... she even give ME a funny look sometimes!

Cro Magnon said...

We don't have dog licences here.

Cro Magnon said...

Several, I think. It's not really my department; Lady M signed him up.

When Hugo our poodle had "the snip" we dressed him in an old t-shirt which prevented him from being able to get at his stitches and chew them or lick the wound. Tail through the neck opening, back legs through the sleeves and hem clipped together with a bag clip under his chin. It worked really well and was much less fraught than the lampshade option.
