What sweet pups. That spot is obviously the happy dog place....who knows, maybe it smells of dogs gone by, maybe it is just familiar from a life gone by.
It's amazing isn't it Cro! I believe that animals know more than we think they do Billy is obviously very happy and settled in his new home as were your previous canine friends. I think Billy instinctively feels this. It works for us so why not for animals.when I got my Staffie Pit bull cross as a rescue I believed he needed me looking back i realise how much I needed him! Thanks for the pupdate.
He has settled in really well, and is even beginning to become 'house trained'. He's met a few of the other local dogs, children, and horses, and gets-on with all.
Adorable, and I'm quite jealous. I've wanted a dog for years, but our garden, while large enough, can't be made dog secure. I have a very home-loving cat instead!
Lovely photo’s, the vibes are obviously good. So pleased to know you now have a four legged partner-in-crime back in the fold. Must confess I am envious!
That's clearly the best spot in the house for a nap. Billy sure looks like he is right at home. Thanks for the pup update. Gosh, seeing the pic of Monty you realize he really grew and grew and grew.

Night shifts are like black holes, they engulf everything .
I’m reading before I go to bed. The day is damp and cold and murky and the

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!

ReplyDeleteYou're probably right about some aroma. They obviously feel secure lying there.
DeleteThat is amazing!
ReplyDeleteToo much of a coincidence.
DeleteHow many socks, slippers and shoes were sacrificed to make these photos?
ReplyDeleteYou are spot on! Mostly shoes and slippers.
DeleteIt's amazing isn't it Cro! I believe that animals know more than we think they do Billy is obviously very happy and settled in his new home as were your previous canine friends. ReplyDeleteHe has settled in really well, and is even beginning to become 'house trained'. He's met a few of the other local dogs, children, and horses, and gets-on with all.
DeletePuppies doing what puppies do, lots of sleeping then bursts of high energy. Is that my name tartan on your sofa?
ReplyDeleteHe certainly has the energy, he leaps around like a Spring Lamb. The tartam looks like Stewart to me, but it's only a guess.
DeleteAnd please note, it's now called TARTAM.
DeleteContentment - how time flies - 9 years.
ReplyDeleteHardly seems possible.
DeleteI believe. It also seems to me that Billy feels he has come to a place where he is deeply loved.
ReplyDeleteHe definitely feels at home here. He settled in almost at once.
DeleteYes Yael I agree with you x
DeleteDoes Billy follow you around?
ReplyDeleteAll the time; indoors and out.
DeleteSweet! Love the pink tummy, paws and little nose. Billy has fitted in so well.
ReplyDeleteI have never particularly liked pink noses on dogs. Monty's started off black, then turned pink. Billy's is mostly pink with small black spots.
DeleteHappy dog = happy Cro and all is well.
ReplyDeleteYes, all happy here. He's a lovely little boy.
DeleteReincarnation. Definitely a possibility. Lovely photos to put together.
ReplyDeleteThe similarity seemed no coincidence.
DeleteCuteness overload! Billy looks very contented.
ReplyDeleteHe's a very contented little chap. Well fed on fingers and ankles.
DeleteWhat a cute little pup...looks very happy by being dead to the world asleep! Little fluff ball.
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland
Some local children came by yesterday afternoon and tired him out. He was exhausted.
DeleteAdorable, and I'm quite jealous. I've wanted a dog for years, but our garden, while large enough, can't be made dog secure. I have a very home-loving cat instead!
ReplyDeleteLuckily we are way out in the countryside, so he can go where he likes. No limits.
DeleteHe's sleeping hard like all energetic pups! Billy is so adorable!
ReplyDeleteWorn out, poor thing.
DeleteLovely photo’s, the vibes are obviously good. So pleased to know you now have a four legged partner-in-crime back in the fold. Must confess I am envious!
ReplyDeleteLX
He's keeping us on our toes. Unbridled energy.
DeleteLovely! Happy Billy, happy Cro, that's nice.
ReplyDeleteYes; very happy, and perfect weather too.
DeleteI love the way that pups (like small children) wear them selves out charging about, then sleep it off.
ReplyDeleteBilly certainly does that. You can almost predict when he's going to tire himself out.
DeleteThat's clearly the best spot in the house for a nap. Billy sure looks like he is right at home. Thanks for the pup update.
ReplyDeleteGosh, seeing the pic of Monty you realize he really grew and grew and grew.
Monty was a very 'chunky' pup. He grew into a very big boy.
DeleteHe's a keeper. He looks so fit for his job of herding you around!
ReplyDeleteNo Hens to herd now, Bok used to round them up when we allowed them to wander.
DeleteOh, I LOVE Billy .... is that sleeping spot near the fire ? XXXX
ReplyDeleteYes. Just below Lady M's sofa, by the fire. He's no fool.
DeleteThere is nothing as sweet as sleeping, contented babies.
ReplyDeleteCertainly a lot less tiring for us.
DeleteI see VERY long legs on Billy!
ReplyDeleteWe've had him for just two weeks, and I'm sure his legs have grown.
DeleteThat is so precious! More puppy photos, please :)
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, I'll be boring you quite often!
DeleteOh, yes, do keep the baby photos coming! That's a lovely coincidence, too.
