Kimbo had organised the whole affair in secret.
Having landed at Toulouse airport, he drove to the breeders home, then presented me with the above on arrival here yesterday afternoon.
Was I surprised? I should say I was!
Billy was born on December 19th (I think), and, as you can see, is that greatest breed of dog; a Border Collie. I've had more dealings with Border Collies than any other breed, and I adore them.
I've already tried him with "Away" and "Come by", but he still has a little to learn.
There's time.
Wonderful. He looks content. I am sure you will be great mates.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure we will, he's a lovely little boy.
DeleteA delightful little lad you and he will have a lot of fun together.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to it already.
DeleteI teared up what a sweetheart ! He is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh what fun you both will have.
cheers, parsnip
He's very tiny; only 8 weeks old.
DeleteHe is a lucky little pup, a wonderful life awaits him.
ReplyDeleteHe was running around in the sunshine yesterday afternoon. I think he approves of his new home.
DeleteFantastic, he can't "cum by" without the sheep, he's not daft. He needs sheep.
ReplyDeleteThey are a grand breed of dog. I wish you both all the fun in the world.
PS. Hens would do at a pinch, I had one that would round up hens.
DeleteOur Bok did the same, and he was only half Border Collie.
DeleteOH, what a darling little boy! You are going to have a great life together!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure we will.
DeleteAww, he looks like a little sweetie.
ReplyDeleteHe's been chewing my fingers all morning.
DeleteCongratulations on your new arrival! Rick says Billy is sure to be a handsome chap when he grows up. What a lovely surprise.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was a surprise. Even when he walked through the door with a big box, I still had no idea what it was.
DeleteThe only dog we had was a Collie(with a bit of something else but mainly Collie) she was the cleverest I've ever seen and good as gold.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your lovely surprise and new companion
They are lovely dogs, and extremely intelligent. Only one puddle so far!
DeleteWhat a wonderful surprise. He looks
ReplyDeletepleased and calm.
And he got the best friend that he can ever get.
ReplyDeleteActually he's been rushing around like crazy; really enjoying himself.
DeleteAbsolutely brilliant what a wonderful gesture. Still miss my Moss - who was a most intelligent companion!
ReplyDeleteMy oldest (Kimbo) never fails to surprise me. He's a wonderful son.
DeleteYes, Kimbo "did good"
DeleteGreat looking pup and Billy is a sweet name. 2019 is looking up now! What fun.
ReplyDeleteMy specs have suddenly become rose-tinted.
DeleteLovely, lovely news! I am so happy for you Cro x
ReplyDeleteYes, a wonderful surprise.
DeleteThe best gift ever for you....and Billy! You'll have great times together.
ReplyDeleteBravo Kimbo
Years of fun ahead, I'm sure.
DeleteCongratulations Cro, here's to a fun-filled 2019!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
DeleteHow absolutely wonderful ! I am so pleased that you have another little fella to love. Brought a tear to my eye. How old is he? Lots of pics please! ( I like the name too.)
ReplyDeleteHe's only two months old. Normally a bit young to leave his Mum, but she was having problems.
DeleteSo happy for you. I love Border Collies and hope to have one when I retire. In the meantime I've got an induction meeting next week to start voluntary work at a local Border Collie rescue centre. I would have loved to see your face when your son turned up with him!
ReplyDeleteHe filmed it. I was in SHOCK.
DeleteOh Cro, what a wonderful surprise. Kimbo is a star and Billy is perfect. My aunt and Uncle had a Border Collie called Harry ..... they got him because he failed his sheepdog exams !!!!!! He was the best dog EVER. You are now ready to make a new friend and to have great fun together. XXXX
ReplyDeleteI've always loved Border Collies, they are the most faithful dogs imaginable, and just love long walks. I can't think of a better dog.
DeleteI expect we will hear a lot more about Billy, and I welcome it.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'll be boring you silly with his antics.
DeleteI hope so !
DeleteMe too !
DeleteBeautiful Billy. He is lucky to have found a home with you. :)
ReplyDeleteAll his siblings have found homes too, which is nice.
DeleteSO beautiful. You are going to have lots of fun together. So happy for you both. xx
ReplyDeleteLife is already better.
DeleteHe's gorgeous! Great name too. My best boy was a Billy.
ReplyDeleteI'm really happy for both of you. X
He's great fun already, and only one 'accident' so far!
DeleteWell done Kimbo! Sometimes it needs someone else to make the decision and choice for you. Billy is perfect and I know you will have wonderful times together. I look forward to seeing his progress. I am so happy for you. x
ReplyDeleteI expect there will be regular updates.
DeleteJust what you needed, just in time for the Spring. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd we have two grandsons coming for Easter; they'll love him.
DeletePerfect.
DeleteWe are all so happy for you Cro. Border Collies are beautiful and loving pets. We can feel your joy all the way across the Atlantic.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful and caring son.
We're having great fun with him already.
DeleteAwww!! A puppy!! In a box!!! Happy days ahead...x
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful sunny day too.
DeleteCongratulations! Can't wait to read about Billy's adventures.
ReplyDeleteI have a German Shepherd/Border Collie mix. She's one smart girl.
So happy for you and Lady M.
Our last dog (Bok) was half BC and half Black Lab'.
DeleteI am looking forward to stories of Billy. Kimbo deserves a special Cro meal this weekend.
ReplyDeleteHe requested Roast Leg of Lamb; that's what he's getting. He's never happier.
DeleteBest news ever! Looking forward to lots of Billy stories. X
ReplyDeleteLet's hope they're all good ones!
DeleteI'm so happy for you Cro and i can feel your happiness jumping off the screen! Border collies that don't have a job (herding) can be challenging at times but what joy they bring. My Emma was born deaf but it is hardly noticeable as long as she has her eye on you. She rounds up everything, ponies, chickens, the donkey, etc. Fabulous, enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOur Bok rounded up the Hens; it was hilarious.
DeleteI was happy to read this. Billy will keep you on your toes. That was a lovely gift from Kimbo. Congrats to you and Billy.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Kimbo always knows the right things to do.He's a treasure.
DeleteDogs make everything better, don't they? He is lovely.♥
ReplyDeleteHe's been running around outdoors, exploring. I think he approves.
DeleteHe looks absolutely gorgeous - lovely that you have a puppy to enjoy the Spring with. Here's to many years of companionship!
ReplyDeleteThe photo above doesn't do him justice; he's as cute as a button.
DeleteA good way to combat mental decline! He will keep you engaged and moving!
ReplyDeleteHis, or my, mental decline? Hopefully both.
DeleteMostly yours! And you will have many smiles and laughs, I'm sure.
DeleteAwww... so sweet! I'm glad for you Cro.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased for you, now you just need a few sheep. lol
ReplyDeleteBriony

Wonderful news indeed. Here's to many happy years spent together for you both.
ReplyDeleteWonderful news. May you enjoy life together.
ReplyDeleteWords fail me, well, almost. What a lovely, lovely surprise and what a son? I am so envious, my much loved and hugely missed dog was a collie, a rescue of six months old. In her short life she had been beaten and kicked was just skin and bone and very, very afraid. After such an awful start I didn’t expect her to live very long. She was my special chum for fifteen years, we went through so much together. Gaining her confidence was a long haul, worth every step of the way. Her intelligence far outweighed mine!
ReplyDeleteYou two boys have a great future of fun and finding out about each other. I wish you joy Cro.

It's 5.30am and he was so excited to see me this morning, I thought his tail would fall off by so much wagging.
DeleteThe best thing that could have happened Cro - and the best breed. I am so pleased you now have a companion again. Good luck with the training. You could buy a couple of sheep to help him along.
ReplyDeleteI am so very happy for you! Long time reader, first time commenter.
ReplyDeleteAnd so the circle continues xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful boy x He is not a replacement but a new love in your life enjoy x
ReplyDeleteYay...Hiya Billy... you are so lucky to have a new family like Mr Cro and Lady M. I know you will have a fantastic life full of long walks and fun with small children popping by sometime. So happy for you Cro and Lady M.
