I can understand that some people like to watch celebs and pros dancing together, but this TV show is about much more than just a quick twirl around the dance floor.
Firstly, each couple is shown practicing, falling over, the celeb splitting trousers, etc.
Next is the two minute result of their hard work. Clap clap clap.
Then we see a big blonde woman saying how wonderful they were, and a bunch of lovies fawn over their prowess; there's also a Mr Nasty who always says how awful they were.
Now they skip upstairs to Ms Winkleman (daughter of Eve Pollard; dark heavy fringe) who fawns again.
And we end-up seeing what dismal scores the lovies award to the celebs.
The following day one dire couple will be voted off the show, and it goes on, and on, and on, until there's no-one left.
As Lady M enjoys all this nonsense, I have to admit to having watched some of it myself. But after about 5 minutes my insides begin to complain, and I have to leave the room.
I still think my idea of 'Celebrity Bomb Disposal' would make for far better viewing on Saturday evenings. BBC; please note!

We rarely watch televison. Over winter we have been watching Antiques Roadshow. We also watched Joanna Lumley's and Chris Tarrant's travel shows and, at present Martin Clunes Islands of Australia. These plus the News are sufficient.
Very wise. TV these days is mostly dumbed-down rubbish.
Much prefer a good book.
Too much screaming and noise for me this time. I don't know who most of them are so have more or less given up with it.
I haven't seen it for a while (Lady M's been away), but no doubt will see a snippet this evening before becoming bored again.
I prefer a good crossword.
A future of lonely Saturday evenings and I'm glad of a wee bit of Strictly nonsense to keep me company. I'm usually reading at the same time and I always look at the strictly spoiler to see who was voted off to save the angst(not really!) of Sundays
We also do the daily crossword and "code cracker"
We watch most of the Saturday show, later check the spoiler and so don't have to watch the Sunday (Saturday Part II) show. This year we can't be bothered to watch Zoe Ball every night as there are endless repeats of Star Trek N.G. to amuse us both. As to this season's Celebs. only ever heard of G.Swann, The Cat and another one that I have forgotten.
I do codewords while I watch.
I never watch dancing on TV. Maybe it's because I have two left feet.
I wasn't aware of the spoiler; saves having to watch another whole show.
Yes, I saw that The Cat was on there, I'll maybe have a look again tonight; he must be quite old.
My wife refuses to dance with me.... too flamboyant and energetic.
I don't watch much TV - like Antiques Road Trip and ditto Show and also watch travel programmes - loved the silk road with Joanna Lumley and also Michael Palin in North Korea.
But Saturday nights when one lives alone and has lost one's partner are very long. Like Rachel I tend to watch it and at the same time do the Killer, the Codeword and the Guardian crossword - but I must admit this year I have found it very boring. And like you - 'celebrities? - I have never heard of any of them.
The reason why I posted a photo of Anne Widdecombe, was because she was the last person I saw who was fun. They should have her back.
When it first started, my husband and daughter would watch it religiously. Now, thankfully, they've both got bored with it. I've never seen the point in watching other people dancing.
I'd rather be doing it than watching it, but even then I'm not over keen.
I didn't realise Claudia was Eve Pollard's daughter. The show is not as good as it used to be.
I think I would prefer a non celeb version. I am sick of this celebrity culture. Go on a show once and automatically you become a 'celebrity'. Vastly over paid people who cash in on their 'celebrity' status until newer faces come on the scene and they are cast aside. I miss the old days where we truly had people with star quality and talent.
Not as good as when Widders was in it.
Not only are they celebs, but they are often referred to as 'Stars'. Total nonsense.

I started watching and fell asleep. I also noticed that Lady M was asleep. I turned it off.
Celebrity bomb disposal! That’s inspirational. I don’t watch Strictly, but CBD I’d watch with great pleasure 🙂
I reckon it would be the highest rating show on TV. Who wouldn't love to see a celeb failing!!!
