Part of the fun of being on holiday is doing things one wouldn't otherwise do.
Harvey J and Ollie wanted to go fishing, and this is the result. Five really nice trout caught from a nearby lake.
Well done boys. Then later, after our delicious supper, the boys treated us to a theatrical extravaganza. A kinda puppet show!
The cast included several bears, a monkey, and a couple of tigers.

I bet they were happy about those fish! That's quite a catch...such cute boys.
I don't ever remember getting a catch like that as a child. Do you fish there for your dinner as well?
No... I go to the fishmonger, I prefer salt-water fish.
I bet they weren't caught with a worm on the end of a safety pin - that nearest fish is huge - well done indeed.
My job was gutting them... and cooking them, of course.
Yes, excellent fishing . . . but even better "the link within" took me on a tour of previously posted artwork . . . A fine start to the day.
What a thrill for them. I wonder what they used as bait.
I have no idea... I stayed at home.
How very sweet...what kind of trout?
They did a fine job! Love how they retreated back to the safe life of stuffed animals inside after all that hard work.
I need to take Liam fishing again. The last time we tried it, he kept walking around knocking into people, flinging the hook precariously. He wasn't actually interested in catching a fish, just walking around with that pole. He's older and wiser now.
Salmon trout, I think. They were pink fleshed.
It stories like these that make fishing well worth it. Thanks for sharing. :)
Sounds like a wonderful day! I bet the story line for the puppet/stuffed animal show was first-rate, too.
How adorable!! A puppet show!
And the fishing trip, what a catch! Grands are so much fun. I know you are enjoying it all like a good grandfather.
