Having just consumed a Bacon Sandwich, here are three more styles of breakfast.
Top: English.
Middle: French.
Bottom: Slovakian.
I very occasionally partake of PARTS OF the English one, quite often the French one, but never the Slovakian one.
A diverse offering twixt the interesting, the unusual, and the amusing.
My grandchildren have Slovak citizenship. On the other side of the grandmothers, luckily it's only on paper.
ReplyDeleteTheir traditional breakfast doesn't help!
DeleteSmile. Slovakian and Greek!! Though the cigarettes are mostly replaced these days and a sesame bread ring is more popular.
ReplyDeleteMany in France follow the bottom option, but add a glass of wine.
DeleteI could never eat a full English breakfast, it's way too much food. The French one looks okay except for the cheese. The last one is my ex's idea of breakfast.
ReplyDeleteI once ordered a 'Full English' in a Café in Shropshire, which came with Black Pudding. I'd never seen Black Pudding before (I'm a Southerner) and had to ask what it was. I was none the wiser but ate it anyway. I enjoyed it.
DeleteI think I'll stick with my toast and coffee
ReplyDeleteMy Bacon sandwich this morning (with two added lettuce leaves), was really nice. I recommend it.
DeleteNo wonder the Brits are all overweight and unfit!
ReplyDeleteAnd the Slovakians even more so.
DeleteNot all of us!
DeleteTrue of North Norfolk Sue but not the rest of this island!
DeleteWhat about that wonderful Scottish breakfast of smoked haddock with a poached egg?
ReplyDeleteWhat, no Haggis?
DeleteTo je urážka obyvateľov Slovenska!!!
ReplyDeleteNei, nie je.
DeleteWhat about a Full Irish with black and white pudding?
ReplyDeleteWhat is 'white pudding'? Is it tripe?
DeleteSame Black pudding recipe but without the pigs blood.
DeleteSurely, there'd be nothing left without the blood.
DeleteI'll take the French breakfast, please!
ReplyDeleteMy wife has that almost every day.
DeleteIt's years since I've had even part of a full English breakfast, and I wouldn't even contemplate eating that one! I have either two slices of brioche and coffee, or scrambled or poached egg on toast. So I'd go for the French breakfast.
ReplyDeleteI do occasionally have a fried egg with bacon; but not too often.
Deletemmm smoked haddock and poached egg on top....at any time !
ReplyDeleteThat's something I've never had!
DeleteWhere's my Shredded Wheat?
ReplyDeleteIs that still made?
DeleteWhen in Rome, do as the Romans do.
ReplyDeleteCough, cough, in Slovakia.
DeleteI do not see any French toast nor pancakes with butter and Vermont made maple syrup.
ReplyDeleteThey're unheard of in Europe; even the French toast.
DeleteGlad to see the " full English" had black pudding and not those greasy monstrosities " hash browns"
ReplyDeleteTwo things wrong with the French breakfast- 1 a good croissant does not need butter or jam and 2- the butter will be unsalted. IMHO the only acceptable butter is salted
