DeleteSome "modern art" is self-indulgent rubbish but as, for example, The Tate Modern shows, most of it is worthy of our attention and can often be enriching.
ReplyDeleteBeing in the business myself, I do tend to be very critical. I can usually tell the difference between real rubbish and work that has merit.

ReplyDeleteOh dear, I missed my vocation! I have a couple of spare hand rails somewhere, but will to pop out to the Chines shop to buy a whistle!
I wouldn't bother if I was you. Buy a jigsaw puzzle instead; it'd still be worth something next week.

DeleteI remember making Amanda very uncomfortable when on a visit to Tate Modern I came across Andy Warhols toilet, and very publicly burst out laughing and asking why 'people even buy into this s&&t?
