When I built our 'tower', I was determined that it should remain as primitive as possible. No water, no electricity, and no mod-cons of any sort. Simply a bed, a cupboard, and a few candles for light.
It remained like that for several years, but last year I did run an electricity cable to the interior for the convenience of a couple of bedside lamps.
Lady M has now been suggesting that we install a basic bathroom onto the side of the tower. This would involve taking water to it, installing a new fosse septique, and destroying the new garage that I recently built for the mower.
So, will I be giving-in to her wishes? Not bloody likely! I might do a more professional job on the electrical installation, but nothing else.
I like it as it is!

Oh come on! You've got to keep your Lady happy. I agree with her 100%. A small bathroom is a necessity, an essential. Especially as you get older. You may be sleeping there by yourself next summer.
Lady M, get Kimbo on the job!!! Without Cro knowing 😄😄
It's only a short walk to the house bathroom... that will have to suffice!
You say there is a garage. Could that be converted.
Not really. It's OK for the mower, but a bit flimsy for anything else.
A gazunder and a water jug should suffice.
That's my preference too, but it's more of a gaz-outdoors, than a gazunder.
Makes me wonder if Lady M is trying to sort out some alternative living accommodation for you....start worrying when she suggests a cooker and kitchen sink as well!
Ha ha.... you could be right. However, it is my favourite bedroom!
Are you troubled by mosquitoes there?
A nice space,
Hardly at all, but I've just bought a couple of battery-powered Mozzie deterrents. One for the tower, and one for our bedroom in the house. I hope they work!
It looks out through a huge window onto perfect open countryside.
The bedroom looks like a scene from a fairy tale. A bit magical. That said, I do think a small bathroom is essential.
The bathroom in the house is on the ground floor, and not far away. I'll keep it as it is.
A gaz-outdoors may be ok for you but I am sure not for Lady M.
Or most other people!!!
It does look a lovely, relaxing bedroom, but I'm with Lady M on adding a bathroom - though my preference would be for a shower). Trotting over to the cottage on a warm summer night to use the "facilities" may be fine but not much fun if, on rare occasions, it's chucking it down with rain!
