The poor dear. Just look at that sweet face!

Here we are, just into 2026, and I already have a wonderful story for you.

Just so you know what a totally bonkers country we're living in; I offer this simple (and not uncommon) tale.

This much misunderstood 'Islamist Double Murderer', Fuad Awale, was serving a minimum of 38 years in prison, having shot and killed a couple of fellow drug dealers. Then, along with another misunderstood Islamist prisoner, he held a Prison Officer hostage and threatened to kill him unless some silly demand was met.

As a result, Awale and his chum were then sent to a special secure unit for extra dangerous prisoners, and he was kept in Solitary Confinement.

This, of course, caused 'severe depression' to Awale, so he sued the government, claiming that his (EU) Human Rights had been compromised. Well, you would wouldn't you!

Now, here comes the interesting bit. David Lammy, our fabulous Deputy Prime Minister, has agreed that it was horrid of those nasty prison people to separate him from his terrorist chums, and the generous Lammy has awarded him a total of £240,000 in award and costs.

The MORAL of this story must be: kill a few drug dealers, go to prison, threaten to kill a guard, then make lots of money because you're depressed...... It really makes you wonder why all those foreign criminals are so keen to get here!

Would that be the same supreme intellect David Lammy who claimed that Henry VII followed Henry VIII as king of England?

That's him. Makes you proud to be British, doesn't it!

Lammy must often wonder how he reached such hieghts in politics. Or was he just put there? I was there the night he was first elected as the new Tottenham MP at Ally Pally in 2002, working alongside Suella Braverman's Tory team as videographer. Suella's Mother was the Tory candidate.
We love how Lammy just keeps putting his foot in it. But my, how he seems to have morphed into the man he took over from nearly 25 yrs ago, Bernie Grant.

Oh gosh. I remember Bernie Grant. Wasn't he known as 'Barmy Bernie'? We now have a 'Lamentable Lammy'.

I just read this in my news post. I cannot understand it at all. Thought maybe I hadn't read it properly.
The mind boggles.
Can his victims families now sue him for compensation?

They'd be called 'racists' if they did! I suppose we have to accept that the Woke Brigade have won. Britain is now officially 'Bonkers Britain'.

I suppose, given his lifestyle, he may not live long enough to spend it.

That's certainly a thought!

My (late) elder brother was a prison warder. I can imagine his take on this.

I don’t think £7,500 is making “lots” of money. I also suspect it was a court and not Lammy who awarded the payout.

And I should have said, the idea of successfully suing because you are depressed in prison is ludicrous

Knowing that you are a card-holding Lefty, no-ne will be surprised at your comment!

Cro Magnon said...

They do their best, but the law is ALWAYS on the side of the baddies!

£234,000 of the £240,000 was for legal costs. The judiciary followed the law and Mr Lammy was obliged to do that too. I am glad that Britain is not like the USA where their current Attorney General often seems to ignore federal laws at the behest of The Demented Orange Tyrant. Now that Fuad Awale is back in jail where he belongs I hope he rots there.

You don’t think it is ludicrous?

Typical comment from a life long labour voter😃

Cro Magnon said...

Yes I know how it was split, but all that money comes from us Taxpayers. Personally I resent even £1 being spent on such sc*m.

Cro Magnon said...

Of course, and it's not something that should be rewarded.

Traveller said...

Ah….you are agreeing with what you see as a card holding lefty opinion (and I am not by the way)

Yorkshire Pudding said...

No Traveller, you are I believe a woke EV commie tree hugging singer of "We Shall Overcome".

Cro Magnon said...

T, am I to presume that all your comments are just pretending to be an extreme Socialist?

Traveller said...

Wouldn’t an extreme socialist think £7,500 was a lot of money?

Cro Magnon said...

I have no idea, but I do know that, like Lammy, they always support what is totally bonkers.

It makes no sense. The cost of a trial followed by a sizeable award to a criminal who will likely never leave jail.
I am not against prison reform and do not expect prison to be a 5-star hotel experience, but human rights must be upheld to some level.

Cro Magnon said...

Now that we are no longer a member of the EU, I don't understand why we're still allowing their 'woke' human rights laws to be adhered to here!
