Canine ESP.

Every Friday morning, at 7 am, Kimbo joins me for breakfast.

The strange thing is that Billy knows he's coming. He sits by the back door and waits for him to arrive. He goes to the door at about 6.45 am; and patiently awaits his arrival (below was yesterday).

How he knows it's Friday, or how he knows that Kimbo will be arriving any minute, goodness only knows. It MUST be Canine ESP.

As usual we have a good belly-busting breakfast together. Bacon, Haggis, fried Egg, a few Mushrooms, and some mini Toms. We talk about the world's problems, and discuss how we can solve them.

He's off to France next week so our breakfast will be put on-hold for a week. No doubt at the cottage he'll find something delicious to eat instead. He doesn't deprive himself. We could, of course, have an international WhatsApp breakfast together; I shall have to arrange it.

Mutual plates such as yesterday's (above) will have to wait for his return. This one was especially good!

Maybe you have some 'tell' in your start to a Friday that Billie has picked up on, knowing it means Kimbo will visit. Interesting to know what happens with Billie next Friday.

Perhaps Billy knows that on the day you prepare a cooked breakfast Kimbo is coming. Assuming you don't have a cooked breakfast every day.

Yes, that'll be interesting! He's been doing the same for the past few weeks.

It could be any number of things. On Fridays I leave my breakfast until 7 am, whereas it's usually 5 am. I expect he notices the difference.

Perhaps Billy can smell Kimbo coming. Does he wear "Old Spice"? Kimbo I mean - not Billy!

He wears 'Old Mice'; a more intriguing aroma.

They know, they just know.
As the others say it will be interesting to see what he does next Friday.
Your tradition is wonderful. A breakfast of champions with the most enjoyable company. Laid back, familiar, times to remember

Kimbo said it was my best breakfast yet! I agreed with him.

Clever Billy! Did you manage to solve the world's problems yesterday over breakfast? If you did please let the leaders know!

Can I take Kimbo's place next week if you're going to serve up a breakfast like that!

Most of them; yes. Watch your TV screens!

You would be very welcome.

My Herbie sat in wait at the window for my mum to arrive every Friday - The window he chose was in a different room where he could see her approaching - not his usual viewing point - It broke my heart when I noticed him waiting for her one Friday and she never came again - flis x

When I married we would visit my parents on random Sundays, but the family dog would know when and sit at the front door waiting for us to arrive. They just know.

That's very sad. Dogs are so loyal. Billy just loves it when Kimbo comes to the house.

Yes, our Friday mornings are really nice. Even Billy enjoys them.

What clever beasts they are. It must be ESP. I'm sure Billy doesn't have a calendar.

Billy somehow knows that you are preparing for the visit. Quality time.

He obviously picks-up on something. I didn't think I gave him any clues!

The breakfast looks delicious. Does Billy get a special breakfast on Friday as well?

Cro Magnon said...

No, he just goes back to sleep.

Will Billy figure out next Friday that Kimbo will not be coming that week? He is so faithful to sit and wait on the appointed day and time.
