I've always been a 'Meat and One Veg' sort of person, or a 'Hearty Stew' person, or a 'Chuck it on the BBQ' person. But I'm slowly being educated.
This was only the second time I'd eaten at this Middle Eastern restaurant, with shared plates of various grilled meats, vegs, breads, and pulses.
We also shared a couple of bottles of very good Argentinian wine with good friends who were over from Barbados.
The restaurant isn't too far from our front door (maybe 500 yards), and is basically 'Middle Eastern'; no specific nationality is given. Think Turkey, meets Lebanon, meets Greece. A wonderful mix of exotic flavours and aromas. A real assault on the taste buds. A very satisfying meal
If you happen to be in the area, the restaurant couldn't be more central, but is always quiet. No need to book. It's called Lavash and is in North St Brighton, right by the clock tower.

Perfect way to eat out with family and friends - shared food more or less the way it would be served up and passed around the table at home. Great food too.
It was a fabulous lunch, made even better by good company!
Sharing good tasting food with good company and a few bottles of wine is the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Being able to stroll there and back, no parking problems, just makes it perfect.

I went home to take Billy for a walk, and the others stayed on for Prosecco and more conversation. All very nice!

A delightful spread. So different from typical western European fayre.
It's a very pleasant way to eat, but you do need a big table.
I imagine that a big belly also helps.
Goodness - so different from my Saturday lunch - I had a sandwich - langostinos on brown bread!
I love food from the Levant. next time try Lebanese wine, if they have it.
It would have been a bowl of vegetable soup if we hadn't gone out!
They didn't. They only had three reds and they were all from S America. If they'd had a Lebanese red, we would certainly have bought it.

Sharing a meal with lovely platters of exotic dishes wonderfully spiced makes a lovely experience. Good food with friends and sharing the fruits of Bacchus is perfection.
It was, but we could have done with more 'elbow room'.
It was delicious.
So many different flavours, textures, and colours. Superb.
