I think I've found a simple solution to England's illegal immigrant problem.
Overnight (next weekend perhaps) The Army should build a large solid floating pontoon dock on a quiet beach somewhere between Fécamp and Étretat, on the North Coast of France; beside which they would plant a very large sign, such as the one above.
Then, when our kind UK Border Force boats pick-up illegal immigrants heading for England, they would simply steer a semi-circular course back to France and drop them off at the pontoon; instructing them to "Keep walking, The Benefits Office is straight ahead".
There we are; PROBLEM SOLVED.

That's one way of solving the problem. I can think of a mote permanent solution and it's one that wouldn't cost too much money.
ReplyDeleteI quite expect most people have cunning plans of their own. Mine was just one amongst all the others.
DeleteHaha, yes, very good Cro! I think Adrian's more permanent solution might be similar to mine...
ReplyDeleteThe only people who DON'T have a solution are in Government.
DeleteOf course it is important to distinguish between genuine asylum seekers who are fleeing for their lives and chancers like all those Albanian lads who are essentially economic migrants hoping to improve their lot.
ReplyDeleteThis is why they destroy all their 'papers' before landing at Dover. They can then claim any old thing!
DeleteThat's a brilliant idea Cro, but let's hope that the French don't catch on to your cunning plan!
ReplyDeleteI can feel The Guillotine hovering.
DeleteThe great unanswered question is why, and who, is instructing the RNLI and Border Force to go halfway out into the English Channel and taxi them all in knowing that they've disgarded their legal papers.
ReplyDeleteOf course we all suspect the Government. No wonder the RNLI is losing public support.
The buck stops with Starmer. If he told them to stop; they would.
