I'm sure you all know about this heroic young Romanian boy, but I think it's worth reminding ourselves of his bravery.
The 13 year old (or 15 year old, depending on source) Christian Becheanu offered to go down a narrow pipe to save the small child who had fallen into it. What a wonderful act of selfless bravery by one so young and seemingly fearless. He is awarded 'The Cro Medal for Gallantry'.
This was in 2013; he must be about 24 by now.

Goodness me. What a start to my Sunday morning.
He seemed to take everything in his stride. What a boy!
Apparently his name is Cristian. He was lowered head first down the pipe. Apart from his bravery, I noted how everybody else in the video was filled with love and hope for the little boy who had fallen to the bottom of the pipe. They were all doing their best and that is so heart-warming.
What remarkable courage and with no safety harness apart from the belt- he deserved a medal. How many of today's youngsters would be prepared to attempt such a rescue?
A rare example of bravery, but I don't suppose many small children need saving from inside a pipe. A really lovely story.
Would I have offered my services at his age? I'm not sure!
How incredibly brave of the young lad, thank you for posting this, brought me to tears!
A true hero, he answered the call without hesitation.
Good grief, what a rescue! Brave lad
The heart of a grown man beat in that young boy's chest. I wonder where he is now?
His act of bravery, kindness and compassion are quite remarkable and to be applauded. He makes the world a better place and more people should do the same.
There 's a programme on Netflix you would like. Squaring the Circle about Aubrey Powell, Po and Storm.
He was indeed. Special boy.
Who knows. He was promised some land and a house by the Romanian president. I hope his word was kept.
That's really why I posted it the video; we all need to know that such acts of kindness still exist.
How strange you should say that. I was just this afternoon looking at a photo of us wearing our school boaters. We both went on to the Stock Exchange together, but he quit very soon.
Perhaps you could see it at Kimbo's. I bet he has Netflix.
He does; I'll have a look today. Thanks.
