Stanley Unwin

One of my early comedy heroes has to be the wonderful Prof Stanley Unwin.

Here he is in 1983 at Speaker's Corner, explaining the introduction of the UK's new decimal currency (I think).

Lovely! I had forgotten him and the joy he brought. Read up on him on Wiki on which it is noted, that his and his wife's gravestone bears the lovely epitaph: "Reunitey in the heavenly-bode – Deep Joy!".

I think he was in some of the 'Carry on' films, in cameo parts.

Me too, but for some odd reason he came to mind. I rather pleased he did.

I did not know of Stanley but now I do. What a "kissy -cuddly" kind of guy! And about that property on your previous post...I want it. Must get Keith to agree and get my fours sisters to put up their share but then I think it's a go.

I'm afraid that particular property has just been sold, but I can find you another. It'd be nice to have you as a neighbour!

I had forgotten about ole Stanley. Watching him again made me and my husband hoot with laughter. Can you imagine the tourists at Speakers Corner trying to fathom out what he is saying.
