My lovely boys are now back in London. Lady Magnon has accompanied them on their flight, and will stay for a while to do some 'shopping'.
They've been with us for most of the summer, with just a short week's break on the Med' with their parents
I must say, they've been 'model children'. No tantrums, no misbehaviour, no arguments. They've even amazed me by eating their 'greens', and trying almost everything on offer.
Possibly even more than us, the dogs will miss them terribly. We have been totally ignored since they've been with us; Monty and Bok only had eyes for them.... Inseparable.
The bikes, go-karts, and butterfly nets, have all been put away; oh my god it's going to be so quiet. I'm already looking forward to seeing them again as soon as possible.
Have you considered a pre-Christmas visit, boys?

You are so lucky to have such wonderful kids in your life.and they are lucky to have such grandparents.
Thank you Yael; we are blessed.
Poor dogs, hopefully they will squeeze in another visit soon x
So glad you enjoyed your summer with the boys - I expect they were sad to leave too. Back to normality it is for you then - luckily you have us for company.
Lady M will bring you a present back from London.
Yes, throat pastilles for winter.
Yael, you said just what I was thinking!
Lucky boys to have such grandparents in such a fantastic place - and willing to have them all Summer. Could I be a grandchild too please?
they'll be back before you know it
I expect the house is feeling very empty and quiet today. Bet the dogs are sad too. Have a glass of wine. (And ask Lady M to bring you back some liquorice allsorts.)
Our "nest" emptied this week. I'm still not quite sure about it.
Helen
I understand how you feel, Cro. I miss my grands if I don't see them in a week. They are so lucky, as are you, to have a wonderful place like yours to spend their summers. Hope you see them again soon. Deb
What a wonderful summer you, Lady M, and the children must have had. You never mentioned the tree house or the boys using it (did I miss it?). Now you have time to think of some new, wonderful things to entertain the boys next summer.
They tended to just do their own things this year. They did use the tree house quite a lot, but the most popular pastime was swimming.
I rather like (although I'm not allowed to eat) those licorice wheels from Leclerc. Yum.
Such an idyllic image. As the kids grow up they too will remember those days with fondness.
I do hope so.
My granddaughters, who live with me, started back to school this week. No more little girls in the swing, reading books. It's life, gone a little quiet for a time.
Wow, time sure does fly. It seems like the boys were just arriving! They sure are handsome little guys, and I love the photos of them with the dogs! I can only imagine how much you, Lady Magnon, Monty and Bok will miss them.
You're right, it seems like only yesterday that I picked them up from the airport; and now I've taken them back again.
They certainly sound like good boys. I'm especially impressed with the "no arguments"! What a joy it must have been to have them for so long.
Poor Monty and Bok.....you'll have to give them extra attention for awhile.
We just spent a week at the beach house with our son’s, their wives, three dogs and the five grandchildren. After they left the dogs wondered around looking into every room, eventually shlumping off to their beds to sulk.
Lovely grandparents and lovely memories you have given your gorgeous boys
My 2 dogs are at present looking extremely bored, knowing they've just got ME to amuse them for a while.
This summer will live long in their memories. Magical days for all of you.
Our GK's here most of the summer while their mum worked long 12 hour shifts, have now gone back to school and their previous schedule. We'll see them just every third weekend which is both torture and a wee bit nice as I can finish almost one whole thought without being interrupted. Still, we miss them terribly don't we?
Awwww....poor grumpy! :(
