Saucy!

Lady Magnon is very generous, when returning from her distant galivants she always tries to bring back one or two gastronomic delights; preferably in interesting containers.

This year one such was this bottle of Byron Bay Chilli Co Sauce; locally made chez Wills, Kellogg, and Bunny.

This stuff is delicious. We broached it to accompany some roasted Tandoori chicken, with rice and sweet corn, and it really did the job.

On her previous visit to Oz, she returned with a couple of bottles of different flavour 'Outback Spirit' sauces; frankly these were tasteless rubbish; not a patch on this one above.

She returned with 2 bottles; one medium hot, the other HOT. Unfortunately she confused the two, and left the HOT one chez Kimbo in London. I'm hoping he will bring it over, as he's not keen on such things.

I doubt whether this stuff is available everywhere, but if you do ever see it, it's well worth buying.

I have a virus. If any words are highlighted in blue above (are they?), do not click on them!

No words highlighted in blue or any other colour. Looks like that chilli sauce has had quite a hammering already.

Some excellent chilli sauces made near our previous home. One very similar to Tabasco. The brand name is Kaitaia Fire.

They need to be much bigger bottles; a little doesn't go a long way.

I'm only 1,645km south of Byron Bay so next time I'm in the neighbourhood I should check it out. But I've been making my own lately, as I've got a glut to contend with. I've also been making sambal oelek, throwing them in the freezer, giving them away and, of course, cooking with them. And STILL they keep on coming...! Winter isn't too far away so they'll come to an end, soon enough.

I'm growing a few chilli plants this year, but I usually keep them for drying.

I can see some bananas in the background. The chilli bottle looks an unusual colour, not at all like a Waitrose type chilli sauce bottle.

I think the word "saucy"describes you well Cro! ;)

My Harissa comes in tubes, and very good it is too.

You were supposed to get the Habanero one - much nicer in my opinion. I guess you'll just have to wait until I bring you one over - or I might send you one for your birthday!
