Father and Son.

Kimbo and family have spent the week in Germany. K and Eva were married in Eva's home town of Bayreuth on 9. 9. 9.

I'm posting this photo of Kimbo and Ollie in a smart looking German restaurant, simply because I really like the picture (and I love the two people in it).

Both Ollie and his older brother Harvey J have been brought up to appreciate eating-out at good restaurants, and I'm pleased to say that not only do they eat what's on offer, but they always behave impeccably.

Oh that all children were thus!

I am sure your other grandsons do the same.

You obviously didn't see Tenpin's recent Facebook posting!

Your son is looking so smart he obviously hasn't inherited your dress sense. Ollie looks so grown up

Yes; what went wrong!

Do I detect a certain muted sense of pride here?

Not even 'muted'.

Lovely photo Cro ….. our son, pregnant daughter-in-law and grandson have been in Berlin this week….. don't know why I'm telling you that …. just seemed right somehow !!!! I think probably because, they sent a photo of our grandson in a German restaurant, eating ice-cream ! XXXX

Just a little thing which I ought to tell you, Cro - I sometimes look at these blogs on my phone when I'm trying to distract myself at work. Your pale letters on a black background make it impossible for me to read on the tiny screen, but I don't expect you to change it. Carry on.

Is it just me or does Kimbo look a tad Prince Charlesish in that photo? What a sweet wee man your grandson is.

Strange, I would have thought that made it easier to read. May I suggest a bigger screen.

Gosh, I've never thought of him as Prince Charles-ish. Little Ollie IS a sweetie.

Your son and grandson are very smart. If I had had to imagine your son in my mind I would not have imagined him thus. Quelle surprise!

A striking pair.

On an outing with Grandad and Great Uncle my 2 girls (6&8) insisted on eating at a 'proper' restaurant not the burger palace being proposed - then ordered prawn salad and showed Great Uncle how to shell the prawns! Living in France children are expected to know how to behave at the table.

Very handsome men. And I love the photo - the unposed type are usually the best, eh?

Lovely photo. Do agree about bringing children up to behave properly in public places - almost unheard of these days.
Glad you liked my photo. The thing in the background is a ship's thermometer, given to me many years ago by a friend whose father had been a ship#s captain.

Forgot to say - with reference to the rhubarb crumble - I added the grated zest and a squeeze of the juice of an orange to the rhubarb - I agree, it makes all the difference - subtle flavour.

I wondered what it was. Very chic.

I am too fixated on Dad to take in the younger version. My goodness Cro, to think you have created all this beauty ...I was going to say on your own single handedly ( but you haven't have you ! :)

There is a difference between eating a meal in a good restaurant and having fish & chips on the beach.

Both Kimbo and Wills look so very much like you! Does Lady M at least get a look in with Tenpin? Your grandson is a sweetie.

I love seeing children in restaurants when they behave. it is so nice to see. we didn't go to many restaurants as children but if something big or special came up we had to rehearse what to say, through shyness and my Aunts very exacting standards.

I still don't know if I am actually supposed to put my own linen in my lap or wait for the waiter. My Aunt always said this was the waiters job...
