The Prodigy - Keith - Firestarter.

I  was never a real fan of Punk. I liked its irreverence and noisy anti-social protestations, but that was about it.

However this record has always been my favourite of the ilk, and that nice Keith Flint does a great job on both the vocals and the dance. A classic.

And here's that nice Keith Flint, back in 2009. Even his mother would probably talk to him these days (if it wasn't for that thing dangling from his nose)!

  2. Punk - no thanks.
Nose studs - I asked my grandson last weekend (he has one) what happens when you have a streaming cold. He just looked at me and smiled!

  4. I met Keith Flint once. What a charming and polite young man he is when not on stage!

  5. The Prodigy were joint headliners at the Isle of Wight Festival in June. It poured down, but by the time the Black Keyes took to the stage the audience were still there. I think if the bands had played in reverse most people would have given up and gone to their tents.

I listened on the radio, the idea of a festival would only be good if there was no one else there!

  6. I read a lovely story once about how the members of Prodigy went to meet Barry Sheene as they were big fans of his. When they met, one of his kids was blown away because he or she was a big fan of Prodigy.

  8. Punk for me was the late 1970s, the Sex Pistols, Joe Strummer, The Damned, The Ramones. This lot must have been second wave punk. They were all nice fellas.

    1. For me, too, Rachel.

Cro, when I see someone with a nose ring, I can still hear my Gram's voice the first time she saw one, "Does that person think he's a bull and wants us to tie a rope around that thing?"

  9. Oh Cro, I had to push the silence button after a couple of seconds. Punk, rap and hip hop are nothing but noise to me and noise that is tortuous if I couldn't get away fast enough. I like all kinds of music though. I forgot to add fado to that list above.
