Some Animals

Below is a photo of two of my grandsons (when they were much smaller) with our Labrador Monty.

Monty was our first dog when we returned to dog-keeping back in 2011. We adopted him as a Puppy from Ms Tadpole's rescue place; he soon grew.

Yesterday when I was returning from my morning walk with Billy, I came across a most extraordinary sight. Sadly I didn't have my camera with me.

Sitting on the other side of a wire fence, just a couple of feet away, was a Fox Cub, and sitting by his/her side was a Tabby Cat. They were calmly sitting together, just a few inches apart, like old friends. Billy just looked at them, and eventually we moved on. My resolution for '26 is to have my phone with me at all times!!!

Two years ago when Billy brought home a baby Deer, again I didn't have my phone at hand. I've missed some wonderful pictures in recent times.

We probably should have named Monty 'Topsy'.

Thats either an almighty big dog or a mighty good photo shot.
Isn't it so annoying when you miss a good shot like that with the fox and cat. It sounds amazing, the two together.
I have my phone hanging round my neck when I walk but even then I sometimes miss out on my photo by the time Ive got it on the right setting and focused. Or realised it's a photo worth taking

I refuse to answer this question; I must leave it to your imagination.

The Fox and Cat picture would have been sensational. I was so angry with myself. I know I'll never see its like again.

I always take my phone everywhere with me. What if you fall over?

You could catch it on camera!

Yes!

That's a great photo.
Yes, one always sees a potentially wonderful photo opportunity when there is no phone handy to capture it.

Isn't that ALWAYS the case!!!

By the looks of it, you should have called Monty Gulliver! I have recorded many great images in my head, regretting that I did not have a camera with me.

Our old cat used to sit with the foxes that visit our garden . She often was curled up on the lawn and a fox a would be sitting next to her. However despite trying several times to photograph them, the fox would always run off so quickly all we would get was a russet blur! Regards Sue H

We did try to tie him down, but no luck.

I had enough time to photograph the Fox and Cat; they just sat looking at me (and Billy). It was so annoying.

My first Labrador, Sultan, was the spitting image of the one in your photo. He was a big boy too - we think he had some Amerian Lab in his genes!
I always take my phone with me these days. On the odd occasion I've seen something worth photographing, it's usually gone by the time I've got my phone sorted out and calmed an over-excited Boston Terrier pulling on her lead!
