Tommy Emmanuel, Jim Nichols, Richard Smith. I'll see you in my dreams.

I have always said that I prefer to listen to 'mediocre' live music, rather than perfectly played recorded music. Nothing compares to being there, and experiencing the moment.

However, this is almost as good as 'being there'. Watching these three masters of their craft playing this wonderful tune is a total pleasure. I admire their skill enormously. Three men, three guitars, and loads of genius, makes this video a classic in many respects.

Enjoy.

  1. Lovely tune and performed so well. I first heard this song when it was sung and played by Joe Brown at the George Harrison Tribute Concert.
But listening to these guys I'm getting Django Reinhardt vibes.

    1. Didn't Joe Brown play it with a Ukulele? I'm sure I've seen him do that. Django and Stephan Grappelli are amongst my musical heroes.

  2. Yes you're right. Joe Brown did play that song with a ukulele as the red tickertape decorations fell from the cieling of the Royal Albert Hall. Quite a memorable and emotional climax to the evening.

    1. I can't remember where I saw him live, but I do remember that he was very humorous between each song. Almost a stand-up comic!

  3. So "together". Lost in the music to the exclusion of everything else.

    1. I wish I could play like that; I struggle with the 5 or 6 major chords.
