I bought my home in Brighton in 1985, around the time when 'Nightbirds' was a hit record. I bought the album (on cassette) and played it relentlessly; I may even still have it somewhere.
Shakatak were a London band, and I believe they are still going strong today!
There was some very good music around at that time, especially from female singers, and this song still brings back great memories.

How odd, as I was literally listening to a Shakatat CD yesterday after pulling a pile out of the cupboard to have a listen to. Sadly Nightbirds isn't on the CD titled 'Under The Sun. I found it in a local Charity shop where it seems that most of the shop's CD's are all music from the 1980's.
I had the actual 'Nightbirds' album... I really must look to see if I still have it. If not it'll be on Spotify.
I loved Shakatak. I have one of their LP's but alas I no longer have a deck to play it.
I don't have a player for my Cassette either.
I bought a portable cassette player a couple of years ago. There are not many options available, but they are out there.
I think we may still have a machine up in the loft. I must have a look when I get back.
