Dying Chimp Says Goodbye To Old Friend

I originally thought the man in this video was Johnny Morris, but I see that it's the Dutch Biologist Jan Van Hooff, who is an expert in 'primates'.

The video reminds me of the night I sat up with Freddie (my lovely cat). I knew he was dying, so I stayed with him for an hour or so until he was fast asleep, the next morning I found him lifeless. I am so pleased that he knew I was there beside him; I'm sure that animals appreciate that just as humans do.

It's truly awful when we lose our beloved pets. I remember seeing my Auntie in tears as she had her poodle put down due to illness.
Oh yes, Johnnie Morris from Animal Magic. As kids we always watched him. He was clever with all the animal voices.

I used to watch all those early TV animal programmes. Hans and Lottie Hass or Hess, and a few others. I'm surprised I didn't become a Vet.

Just beautiful but what a shame that Mama never knew the jungle nor freedom.

Yes. They're really prisoners, however nice their surroundings are.

Animals know and appreciate far more than humans give them credit for...

I'm sure they do; they simply do things differently.
