Yesterday two of Bok's chums came to spend a lazy afternoon. His girlfriend Izzy, and her housemate Duke. They just relaxed on the lawn for an hour or so, then went home.
There's a few Daffs around.
Some unknown early mushrooms in the Paddock.
Plenty of Plum blossom.
And a lot of Japonica.
Spring is certainly around the corner.

Looks like the sun might have deserted us today, but yesterday was glorious.
That must mean we are headed to autumn. Dogs look happy. Our Irish Setter was called Duke.
They just turned-up, sat around together in the sunshine for an hour or two, then went home again. It was almost like a canine birthday party.

So you called it Japonica too. I think flowering quince is coming into flavour here (no pun intended), although I doubt many people would asking for it now. The want green and strappy things.
In the past I have made 'Jelly' from Japonica fruits, which tasted exactly like Quince Jelly.
Yesterday was a beautiful bright sunny day here too.
Bok is a lovely do; good-natured, well behaved, loves children and gets on well with other dogs.

Izzy and Duke are Bok's greatest friends. They live about 1 Km away, and visit quite often. We love them both, they're always very well behaved.
I made jelly, then fruit cheese with the sieved pulp. You can make them 50/50 with apples, the quince taste is still strong.
Both good with good cheese and I'm assured good with meats also
I didn't know that Japonica had fruits you could eat..... will investigate that when the plant fruits.
They are obviously not the one(s) that only come for the toilet.
They are outside basking in the sun topping up their Vitamin D.
Spring has sprung in your garden then Cro ..... brings a big smile to the face. We have some early blossom and bulbs appearing. I love the way the dogs came over and hung around !!!! We had a fox that used to visit our garden, have a bit of a play, lay in the middle of the lawn for about half and hour then go !!!!! XXXX
They are like mini apples; you don't get them every year.

Lovely to read your words wherever they appear! We had Foxes in our very central Brighton road. I don't know exactly where they lived, but it can't have been far away.

I have just been outside and it is disappointingly very cold but at least the sun is still shining.

You are always about 2 months earlier than us up here.
I like to have lots of dogs around, mine or others; I don't mind.
Not by himself, but I do take him for walks to the farm where they live.
Not sure about 2 months; 2 weeks maybe!

Per my father, spring is here when our dog starts to get ticks. Going by that, spring came here two weeks before.
Watching the plum blossoms felt great.
A win against the wretched Scots at Murrayfield would have been nice. I shall now have to find something else to celebrate on the 1st.
I think we've taken just one off Bok so far.... horrible things.
It's nice when dogs visit like that. Ticks are ghastly creatures. Does Bok get a lot of them?
It's good to see that they have a social life of their own. Bok is treated for Ticks every month, so they are rare. Even so, there's always one or two that get through.

I thought perhaps spring had finally arrived. There were lots of robins in town ... and this morning we work up to a fresh coat of snow and more falling. Mother Nature, thou art a fickle b....
looks like you have been enjoying the same sort of weather as we have, it seems half of my blogland friends are snowed in and the other half are sunbathing!

Lovely, aren't they. Duke (the one in the middle) always reminds me of our late Monty; when you give him a biscuit he tries to eat half your hand!
Yes, it's good to see that dogs have real friendships.
The naughty trespasser now goes elsewhere; thank goodness.
