There were plenty of classic moments in Only Fools and Horses - Del falling through the bar, the batman and robin chase etc. And not only the laughs, there were poignant moments as well, deservedly a classic series.

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!
A classic. They only had one shot at it and so under no circumstances must they laugh. I don't think I would have managed.
ReplyDeleteYes, good self control.
DeleteYou know as soon you start watching that it can only end in tears!
ReplyDeleteWith that bunch doing the job, something was bound to happen.

You're right, it really was a classic.
DeleteClassic English comedy. I enjoy it much more than American humour
ReplyDeleteI don't like all the canned laughter in much US 'comedy'. If you analyse the lines, there's nothing funny at all.
DeleteBritish wit and humor is superb.
ReplyDeleteNot all the time, but we have our moments.
DeleteWith a little more communication and care I feel sure that the three men could have avoided that disaster. Those chandeliers were probably priceless.
ReplyDeleteYou're wrong. They were the most incompetent bunch of 'wide boys' in the whole of Hackney. The chandeliers were fakes too!
DeleteOh Dear!
