Daffs.

AT LAST!

Temperatures are rising, and the seemingly never-ending rain has temporarily halted.

I am seriously thinking of seeing if Rory (my ride-on mower) will start, then maybe give everywhere its first trim of the year. The grass isn't really long enough to warrant it, but it would make everywhere looked well-loved!

Amazing how the first signs of Spring makes us feel alive again.

  1. Yes, sunshine makes a big difference. We got sun today after 5 - 6 days of rain. Great to be able to get 3 loads of washing done and dried.

  2. 4 degrees here and maybe, maybe a few inches of snow in Jerusalem, the excitement is big.

    1. I'm just back from my morning dog-walk, and the birds were singing like crazy. They must think it's Spring as well.

  5. Still raining here and with everyone's head bowed down because of lockdown I'm beginning to feel as though I'm living in a Lowry painting. We do have snowdrops.

  8. I just cannot get over how much earlier your spring comes than ours. I don't hold out much hope of seeing anything like this until the end of next month. It is supposed to be a warmer week next week, up into the 40s. That will be a wonderful change. Underneath all that snow, there are flowers waiting to unfold.

    1. Unfortunately some of my Peach trees are starting to bud. As we can have further frosts up until mid May, I can see them being frosted again.

  9. We have snowdrops and crocusses (crocii?)but no daffodils yet. Grass is very squidgy underfoot.

    1. As I'm sure you remember, an early Spring often means things get frosted up to May, so I'm not really celebrating.

  10. Gales and rain here. Crocuses are trying to pretend it's the start of spring and that's about it. Good luck to you.

  11. What a lovely sight! We have snow and more snow. Your spring weather has always seemed about two weeks before us. I really doubt it this time, but your daffodil gives me hope.

  13. There are quite a few little signs now. Buds are sprouting all over the place. Our skies are sunny today too. We all need this warmth. Winter isn't over but it won't be long

    1. I suspect this is a faux-Spring, then in a couple of weeks (Just when I've started wearing shorts again) it'll turn nasty again and last till May; or longer. That's what happened last year!

  14. It seems early for daffodils but I suppose it is normal.

    1. Daffs are always the first sign of Spring, but I don't know if they're earlier this year or not. I've not taken note.
