You look very serious. A nice painting, although I wouldn't have recognised you.
ReplyDeleteI don't recognise myself!
DeleteAdorable painting
ReplyDeleteI must have been thinking 'American Primitive'.
DeleteI thought that it was your son!xx
ReplyDeleteCould almost be.
DeleteI do like this very much!
ReplyDeleteTrying to imitate different styles of painting is always fun.
DeleteI think we could all find one of ourselves that brings back the past Cro - happy days/
ReplyDeleteI have one in front of me from my college days.
DeleteI thought it was your oldest boy. It looks more like him than you.
ReplyDeleteI think it was done around 1980; 40 years ago. I've 'matured' since then!
DeleteA handsome chap!
ReplyDeleteSpot-on JayCee; the cheque is in the post!
DeletePhoto not loading. Will try again later!
ReplyDeleteAny luck yet?
DeleteDebonair!
DeleteAn exercise in how not to give any thoughts away. There is determination in the mouth but I can't work out the eyes at all. A good equine nose.
ReplyDeleteI think I must have been going for that blank look that so many American primities achieve. No expression; just features.
DeleteThat was obviously your ‘ City ‘ look ! I love it and definitely American Primitive as you said to John. You are ‘ Country Casual ‘ now. XXXX
ReplyDeleteMore 'ratting' these days. I do still own a suit, but it's of the crumpled linen type.
DeleteWe were all once young and beautiful. I don't expect you were wearing shorts beneath your suit jacket.
ReplyDeleteI bought the suit just before going out as a guest lecturer, to teach in the Caribbean. I knew there would be smart parties, etc, to attend. In fact it was so bloody hot that the suit remained unworn.
DeleteA very button-down Cro. Time moves on and we change in all ways. What would the mature (I did not say old) Cro now say to that handsome young man in the picture?
ReplyDeleteProbably to 'relax' a bit. I look rather stuffy.
DeleteYou look distinguished, as you do now but in a slightly more relaxed way. Not man of the world but man who knows the world
ReplyDeleteIt was done at a time when I needed to be respectable, and (dare I say it) authoritative. Thank goodness those days are now behind me.
DeleteBond. James Bond.
ReplyDeleteSuch panache!
