Luckily, or maybe unluckily, I can still watch PMQ's live on my laptop, through 'Parliament TV'.
This last week Freebie Starmer was away on a Freebie, so I didn't bother. I had better things to do than watch Dave Lammy, and there were more important things to worry about.
Liverpudlian bruiser Andy Burnham (above) who is known as 'The King of the North', has just won a Parliamentary seat, and is once again Andy Burnham MP.
We are told that he will lead an aggressive coup against Starmer, and will probably replace him as Prime Minister within the next few weeks (I don't know how long such things take). He represents the far left of Labour politics, which might be OK for a rabble-rouser Union Shop Steward, but it takes a lot more subtilty and diplomacy to be a respected UK Prime Minister.
Burnham is a life-long politician, and like most Labour's MP's, has never run, or established, a business. So, what can we expect of him?
He'll probably introduce even more classic Socialist 'Tax-n-Spend' policies, meaning higher taxes for the wealth-creators, and more hand-outs for those on benefits. 'Re-Distribution of Wealth' is being mentioned in the more extreme left-wing corners; and we all know what that means; higher unemployment, more businesses going bust, more wealth-creators moving abroad, and little growth. He's also talking about serious 'Nationalisation'. Classic destructive Left-Wing policies.
On the plus side he has promised to ensure that Public Procurement always prioritises British industry. Well, that's something we can all support.
Being a Northerner, we also hear that he wants to shift the emphasis away from the S E and London, to Up-North. But he would, wouldn't he.
Thin gruel anyone?

Hope you are managing to keep cool.
Not really! It's going to be 41 or 42 C this afternoon. It's very hot in the tower, even with the fan on. Thank goodness for the pool.
He reminds me of Scargill. North / South divide. Always will be. Most of the money going to the South. ( I am a Midlander.)
Don't do too much swimming or you will get wrinkles on your wrinkles
I've already got them!!!
Most of the money COMES FROM the S. E.
Yes, he's from the same mould as Scargill and Corbyn. It's not certain yet; he may not even get the job!
He’s got two weeks to make it seven PMs in 10 years! The UK is becoming the Italy of Europe.
There is talk Burnham is prepared to tackle the triple lock. Let’s hope he does.
Is it true that Andy Burnham "represents the far left of Labour politics"? I know that "The Daily Mail" and other right wing rags put out that particular piece of propaganda in an effort to erode Mr Burnham's power and reputation before he even enters Number 10 but it is far from the truth. Labour has always sought to improve the lives of working class people and Andy belongs to that tradition just as Sir Keir Starmer does. It is why they came into politics. Andy Burnham is a good listener and a good leader as his work in Greater Manchester has shown. I thought that the British believed in fair play so please give the man a chance instead of throwing rotten fruit at him before his important work on behalf of this great nation has even begun.
Far too many PM's in such a short time. We need more stability.
Unfortunately, so many Labour policies look good on paper, but they fail to see the consequences. One does NOT improve the lives of the working classes by putting them on the dole. If they looked after business and businessmen, higher employment would follow, and that really would improve the lives of the working classes.
Not since the departure of Liz Truss have I seen such criticism of a departing PM. No-one seems to have a good word for him, other than Starmer himself, and YP. A Lame Duck PM if ever there was one. I'm just amazed that he lasted so long.
At least he left and didn’t draw it out for days whilst 62 people resigned to force him out (5 cabinet ministers, 26 junior ministers and 31 aides) oh, and I guess we should also count the person who told him to resign. And was then sacked!
Well the boil has finally burst and two tier Starmer has resigned. But what a truly pathetic speech that was, even saying "Every decision I have taken has been about putting the country I love first." No Sir Kier, you will be remembered as the architect of Broken Britain. And did he really say that he reduced the number of boat people coming across. Absolutely unbelievable.
The Electorate turned on him after the Southport incident, calling everyone right wing thugs and locking up people for trivial demeanors, one being 61 yr old Peter Lynch who sadly died in prison, and not forgetting the imprisonment of Lucy Connolly
after Southport for her Facebook post.. And out of all of it, two tier Justice and Policing was born along with the demise of free speech. He even had the audacity to tell Vance and Trump that we are proud of our free speech.
But still he went on by cutting old people's Winter fuel allowance, even deeming that the old age pension is a benefit, when it is not. And he didn't even know what a real woman was. And did he ever give an answer at PMQ's? Then came all the u turns in a weak attempt to gain some popularity.
I should think that any hardline Labour supporter must be relieved that Starmer has finally gone, during the most catastrophic premiership that I can remember.
Let's not forget we recently had our highest monthly borrowing figures, typical Labour spend money we don't have.
Having listened to his No 10 leaving speech, you might imagine he'd been hugely successful. If his idea of success is having over A MILLION young people on the dole, who've NEVER had a job, then it's not surprising that he's quit.
Just wait. Burnham is even worse. He simply leaves the mess for others to clear-up.
You have a short memory DeeJohn. Don’t you remember Liz Truss.
Getting rid of the universal tax free winter fuel allowance was the right thing to do in my opinion. Let’s hope Burnham has the balls to eliminate another OAP bung - the triple lock. as to boat people I think you will find that it peaked in 2022
It seems to me your nation is in transition rather than on the horns of a dilemma. I think you're underestimating your desire to thrive and the power of your Western Tradition. I'm reading a wonderful book by Dinesh D'Souza, What's So Great About Christianity. I think you would find it quite entertaining. I highly recommend it. You can pick up used copies on Amazon for a few dollars. He has a unique view on the East and the West having been born and raised in India. Stay cool, man. :)
Yes I do remember Liz Truss's catastrophic budget. And she was punished straight away by being booted out.
Unfortunately for two tier Starmer, we had to wait 2 years to pressure him to leave.
As for the illegal boat immigrant figures, Starmer should have stopped it altogether and protected our borders, something which he miserably failed to achieve.
Starmer didn't win a landslide 2 years ago. That was just the Electorate punishing the Conservatives after 14 yrs of power.
One wonders how Britain might have looked had John Smith lived longer. Instead he paved the way for that criminal Tony Blair who started the great British decline.
Starmer's future biography should be called 'How I Broke Britain.'
I left the UK in 1980 and returned ten years ago, therefore, have very little knowledge of John Smith. I was, however, appalled by the Iraq invasion and was very pleased my PM said “Non”!
As to protecting borders and stopping the boats…HOW?
