So, after the original Dog Show was rained-off a few weeks ago, yesterday we had another go. The weather was perfect.
Billy entered the 'Best Boy' category, but didn't win anything. So, from then-on he just watched from the sidelines as many of his chums received prizes for looking silly or wearing comical outfits.
Below is me in the judging ring, trying to get Billy to behave himself. I don't think he's been so well stroked by so many children in all his life. Children seem naturally attracted to him.
The Lady behind me is a friend and neighbour (Gaynor), with her one-eyed dog (Byron) who won a prize under the 'rescue dog' category. It was all good fun and everyone knew everyone, and all the dogs knew each other too.
A lovely Sunday afternoon in the sunshine.
p.s. Yes I know; I'm a bit overweight!

That sounds like a lovely day, the weather sunny and surrounded by dogs. I am sure Billy was happy with all the petting by children and didn't even notice not winning a prize.
Sounds like a delightful afternoon. Billy is a winner when he came to live with you. You are looking good for someone our age.
He loved it, all his pals were there. They're like one big dog club.
I think Billy has as good a life as any dog. He doesn't complain. I wish I was as fit as him!
Billy looks happy but then he always does in your photos. Do you have to use that stick all the time. Hip replacement needed???
Yes, I always use it these days, it helps with my balance. I've become an old codger!
You look great! And so does Billy!
Too young to be an old codger.
Ha ha!
The best bit of the day was that all the dogs seemed to know that it was THEIR special day. They all loved it.
You're my Baby Brother so you must still be young.
Happy dogs make happy people. They are a great stress buster. I make a fuss of every dog I come across when walking about the village.
Me too, I was playing with a 4 month old Black Lab' pup this morning.
In my head I am, it's just that my legs don't understand that!
That is a great photo. A dapper chap and his dog.
Not sure about the 'dapper chap', but the dog looks nice.
Forget the weight - you have a good head of hair.
Fixed! Fixed! Justice for BIlly! He should have surely won first prize in the guide dog category.
What a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Billy looks a happy chap and I'm surprised he didn't win a prize.
That's an illusion; I'm as bald as a coot.
I could have entered him in a 'losers competition', but I reckoned he'd just lose again. I didn't wait to see which dog won that one!
He had a lot of fun anyway. Several of his friends won rosettes.
A lovely photo. You and Billy are a happy pair. Pity he didn't win any prizes.
There's always next year!!! I think it's now becoming an annual event.
Dog shows are fun. My brother used to judge and show. He had Golden Retrievers and Border Collies. The Goldens were beautiful, but the Border Collies were smart.
Perfect day for the dogs and their owners. Dog lovers are always a good group of people.
Love me, love my dog mentality rules. All is well.
This post is my new second favorite...now I must stop trying to make an order out of it. I enjoy your posts , no matter what. Some , just make me smile the whole way through...and right now that is my goal to be happy in life.
You are you ...the pool will turn your life around in no time. Nothing more pleasant than swimming in your own pool.
Ours is only just our local church show. Good fun, but only for laughs.
It was a lovely day; just like today. It's not easy to choose a day in advance.
We adore our pool. Previously we had to drive down to a filthy lake to swim. Now things are a bit more civilised. I just hope that when I flick that switch that the pump starts. We'll soon see!
