The Prince of Darkness is rarely out of our News. The Mandy farce has been going on far too long; all we're waiting for now, is for J Corbyn Esq himself to criticise Starmer; everyone else has !
However, here is Corbyn's ex-girlfriend Dianne Abbott (below) putting her pennyworth into the Mandy affair.
Heaven forbid that anyone should think that I am a supporter of the fragrant Ms Abbott, but amazingly she has (at last) got something right.
I think it's reasonable to say that Mandy has chased after the friendship of the rich and influential throughout his political life. His two sackings were caused by his dealings with dodgy millionaires, and his friendship with Epstein would never had existed had JE been 'poor'.
Mandy was a member of the Young Communist League, and his dealings with both Russia and China are suspect, and have been widely criticised.
There's not much more to be said about Mandy's ridiculous appointment to Washington, but to have heard Abbott criticising Starmer's judgement is the very amusing 'Cherry on the Cake'.

Wasn't he appointed to Washington as it was thought he could deal the best with Trump? you know, like to like
I'm sure that had something to do with it, but it proved very bad judgement, as we all knew. The only 2 people who thought it was a good idea were Starmer and Mandy himself.
I've read about Mandy of course, and his friend Andrew. Andy seems to have disappeared, hiding in his gilded cage. The other one's case seems to be dragging on and on, but hasn't dragged Starmer off the scene yet. Can't tell you how many times I've read 'he' ll be gone by Xmas, Easter, the end of next week.
Greece has one scandal after another connected to EU money, sheep and train wrecks, mainly. The Pm will last at least till next elections in 27.
Charles seems to have done very well yesterday with his speech to Congress
Not often that I can understand what Diane has to say.
Has anyone noticed that Starmer and Mandelson appear to be wearing each others trousers?
I don't think that Starmer wants to resign over a question of misjudgement (he's a barrister). I suspect he's waiting for the upcoming local election results when he'll be able to quit, blaming The Labour Party's unpopularity. It'll then be seen as a political decision rather than a personal one. We shall see if I'm right after May 7th.
She was right on this one !
I honestly think that even if Starmer had been told that Mandy was a serial-killer, he still would have appointed him. Probably returning favours.
If Kamala Harris had been elected instead of Tango Man, Mandelson would not have been considered for the role. Of course there was a risk element but initially the extent of his relationship with Epstein was unclear. It was a mistake but well-intentioned. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
In all fairness, this wasn't exactly 'hindsight'. We all knew about Mandy's past; even Starmer. I think he'd simply made-up his mind, and didn't want to change it.
On this occasion I am agreeing with Cro. Starmer took a risk and it didn’t pay off. Mandy was known to be dodgy. Still not as bad as some of the people Trump has put in place as brilliantly explained in YPs Amateurs post.
Power attracts dodgy people, and it always will.
I dread to think what an ill intentioned decision would entail.
I'm reminded of Agatha Christie's novel, "Why Didn't They Ask Evans?". In our press, who truly hate our president, the question is, "Why WON'T they ask Evans?" It's good to get our information from those that are seekers of truth. Not much of that about now days. On a happier note, King Charles was charming, and funny. I enjoyed listening to his speeches.
Charles is a good man, his eco-credentials were very advanced, but now everyone agrees with him. I hope you enjoy his visit.
Not everyone. Thankfully. It's always fun to watch royalty from the scullery. ;)
I was impressed by Charles’ speech to congress
He's worked so hard to preserve nature, now Miliband wants to cover it over with Solar Panels and wind farms.
And I quite expect he would rather have been elsewhere.
