Boo Boo's Peaches.

This is the Peach tree that I planted on the day that Boo Boo took his first breath of fresh air on 20. 4. 2014. It is HIS tree.

When it decides to fruit, it does so in abundance. 2023 is one such year. The tree is covered in slowly swelling fruits, which should be ripe quite soon.

Our only problem will be trying to eat them all.

Sadly Boo Boo won't be here to enjoy any of them himself. He's just moved from Oz to a small island in Thailand, where my youngest has been building a villa. It is now finished, and rather that let it (which was their original intention), they have decided to live there instead.

As it's only recently been completed, it apparently has teething problems. Some of the plumbing is a bit erratic, and the pool is green. Otherwise they're very happy with it. By the look of it, I think they need a gardener too!

Here are Kellogg, Boo Boo, and the Cherub about to Christen the green water.

I must look for peaches at the market on Friday. I bet BooBoo's have more taste. Nothing like a fruit fresh from your tree.

It's a pity you don't fancy the journey Cro, you could make a nice job of their garden! You could plant another peach tree.

Find a recipe and make peach jam, sell it to the neighours, or simply cook and freeze what you can't eat. I miss the peach tree I used to have in a different rented home.

I've just this minute been checking on them. Not ripe yet, I think it may be another week.

Yes, a little too far for me to mow the lawn, or plant trees.

We did make Peach Jam one year but it was far too sweet. I think freezing is the better option.

Oh for some sun ripened peaches. Drool, drool .....

All that warm juice dribbling down your chin. Paradise.

The villa looks like a special place - so special that it deserves a visit from the Frenchified grandparents. Do you know the name of the island they are on?

Are you working for Interpol? I'm not sure of the Island's name, but it's not far from Koh Samui.

How quickly the tree grew, like the grandson who now looks like a big, happy boy.

No, I do not work for Interpol. I lived in Thailand for two periods of six months and enjoyed a week's holiday on Koh Pha Ngan just north of Koh Samui. I guess they are either there or on Koh Tao.

I think it could be Koh Pha Ngan.

He's a lovely boy. We wish he was still here with us. He made our days such a delight.

We tend to eat them straight off the tree. Several at a time.

Your peaches look outstanding. Nothing is better than fruit right from the tree. My dog likes a pear right from my tree, maybe Billy would enjoy a peach? I absolutely love your son's home! My home is similar with lots of glass and views to the outdoors. The only difference is, my exterior is cedar with mahogany trim. The green water in the pool could use some of your expertise and guidance.

Your peaches look amazing. I had a bowl of cut up peaches with breakfast and was greatly disappointed...not quite ripe!
How lovely to raise one's family in Thailand. Children get to experience and learn so much more when they get to see more of the world first hand. I would love to jump in their pool, green or not.

Homemade peach ice cream is delightful!

Will you bottle some to eat mid-winter in Brighton.

Billy likes Banana, I haven't tried giving him Peach. I quite expect the green water has now gone. It doesn't look as though he had the pump going. I told him to consult a pool expert.

When Peaches are home grown you can feel when they're ripe, if they're shop bought they're probably picked not quite ripe and artificially ripened. The flavour is never the same. Those two children have lived all over the world; my son loves to move around.

That's a great idea, thank you.

I might well do, I'll see how many ripen at once. I'm about to start bottling my Greengages, we have a huge crop this year.
