The very first 'musical' I went to see was Salad Days. I must have been about 10, and went around singing a few of the songs for ages after. I also have a feeling that it was the occasion of my wearing long trousers for the first time too.
Anyway, here is a very short Monty Python version. Enjoy!
I say, that was just delightful. Enjoy your weekend
ReplyDeleteIt got the weekend going on the right footing.
DeleteI must have a problem with humor, I saw it twice and got scared. But anyway, have a wonderful weekend Cro.
ReplyDeleteThat's English humour for you. I found it quite amusing.
DeleteSecond laugh of the day after Rachel's comment on my post, I remember Salad Days well. I am an opera fan but have never been to a 'Musical' - did sing in Gilbert and Sullivan for a few years - a can still do a pretty good 'Buttercup'.
ReplyDeleteI've been to very few musicals. I did see 'Half a Sixpence' with (I think) Joe Brown; not Tommy Steele, as in the film.
DeleteIn my own salad days, I ate salad... with water cress.
ReplyDeleteI thought water cress came from Hampshire.
DeleteNo. It came from the green grocer's shop.
Delete🤣😂🤣 ...... they were so good. One of my favourite Monty Python spin offs was Ripping Yarns ... Michael Palin was so good in it ! Also just wanted to say how beautiful Kimbo's photographs were of Egypt. ... I have been in a hot air ballon which was fun but not quite as spectacular ! XXXX
ReplyDeleteI agree about Ripping Yarns, They are worthy of re-runs, in place of most of the rubbish on TV.
DeleteNot the funniest sketch, but the apologies at the end made me laugh - much more typical of their humour.
ReplyDeleteTotally 'over the top' this one. As you say, not their funniest.
DeleteYes, they should repeat Ripping Yarns - just about everything else that's ever been made has been repeated over the years!
ReplyDeleteMP is an old favorite. British humor does not disappoint.
ReplyDeleteAt the time, we could hardly wait for the next episode. It was all so 'ground-breaking'.
DeleteI have never seen that before and don't find it funny at all.
ReplyDeleteMonty Python didn't hold back on their humour. It was a huge favourite over here.
