It's Oh So Quiet

It's terrible when all your guests leave, especially if they go all at once. As the nice lady says; it's oh so quiet.

Still; what fun we've had. It's never a dull moment with my boys around. We've eaten ourselves fat, we've laughed till our trousers fell down, and we sang our hearts out to Vera Lynn and others.

We are now expecting no more visitors until next Summer, unless Kimbo can snatch a long weekend away from work.

So, for the moment.... what on earth will we do with ourselves! Maybe I'll teach Lady M the rudiments of Boxing, or how to dig holes..... I'm sure we'll find something to do.

    1. I think my oldest will visit before Christmas, but otherwise it'll be very quiet. Yes, plenty to do at this time of year.

  5. Lucky you getting visits. We haven't seen ours since last Autumn. We will be lucky to see any before next Spring.
Still, with Haddocks you will have plenty to do!

    1. Haddock's is just starting to produce masses of everything; except Tomatoes. I expect we could live off its produce until Winter.

    2. Our tomatoes are like marbles, but on their way. Costeluto Fiorentino. I used to grow Roma.We could use a full allotment but there are none in our village. Do they have them in France?

  7. Plenty of swimming springs to mind - that way you will lose the extra weight you have gained while your visitors have been here.

  8. How fortunate you were to have a visit from family that live far away. I don’t expect to see mine till this virus time is over which optimistically may be a year away. I am hoping that time and luck will be on my side.

  9. Oh, Billy won't know what's going on. The silence will be deafening. You've been really fortunate to have such quality family time during these odd times. But Xmas will be here soon enough!

    1. Billy sensed they were leaving, and became very agitated. He loves having people here, and also loves living between the two houses. I gave him a big bone this morning to take his mind off things.

    1. Yes, luckily I had things to do this morning, and I should have had more to do this afternoon, but it's been cancelled. I'll light the BBQ later; that'll take our minds off the quietness.

  11. I do hope you see them again sooner than later. I know what joy, and mirth, those gatherings bring

    1. We had a really great time. The weather was perfect, plenty of swimming, BBQ's, etc. It was all over far too quickly.

  12. All my visitors including my New Zealand family (who should have been here just now) had to cancel all their visits this year. It saddens me greatly but on the other hand I have carved out an entirely different existence with which I am very happy. C'est la vie.
