Kimbo and Suzie are on holiday; but where could they be?
It's hot, there are camels, and there are big pointy things sticking out of the sand.
The tourist shops sell Howard Carter's cast-offs.
The Bangles wanted us to walk like the natives.
And Sam the Sham had a line-up of ancient rulers as his backing band.
Just so that you don't have a shock if you should visit here, Kimbo's taxi from the airport to their 'luxury' hotel cost £1,000. In fact this was just over £16 in UK money, but they still needed smelling salts.
I've been watching some live videos of a YouTube pair who are there at the moment. It looks like perfect weather for wandering around those pointy things.
ReplyDeleteI was speaking to them yesterday, and they're loving it.
DeleteAh, Egg Wiped! My teacher in 1st yr grammar always called it that...Miss Parsons, long gone. She looked about 90 when I was 12! Always think of her when I see a ref. to the country.
ReplyDeleteMy Dad was there in the war ( RAF pay Corp I think) and he took a naughty photo of King Tut still in his tomb. ( Photos were forbidden but he hung back and took one after the main party left!)
Have you still got the photo; it could be worth a bit!
Deletevery close to us.
ReplyDeleteNeighbours.
DeleteWilson, Keppel and Betty.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the old videos? Hilarious, for various reasons.
DeleteI put one on my blog, although in a very different context.
DeleteMmmm...I have had a hard think about this. Is it Egypt?
ReplyDeleteClose!
DeleteI'm also guessing they're not in Blackpool then ... perhaps Egypt. Wow, £1,000 for a taxi, I can just imagine their faces until the conversion kicked in. :-)
ReplyDeleteActually, I think it was £2,000... about £30 UK.
DeleteSunshine, warmth, sand and pointy things. Sounds like fun. Enjoy Kimbo and Susie.
ReplyDeleteI've just spoken to them again, they're going hot-air-ballooning early tomorrow morning. Lovely.
DeleteEasy to be a millionaire there.
ReplyDeleteMulti, even!
DeleteWell, it doesn't look like Skegness either, sooo I may take a wild guess and say Egypt - easy when everyone else has said that!
ReplyDeleteNo mistaking it really.
DeleteEgypt of course! Although Australia is also hot and has camels and we only have one thing sticking up out of the sand and it isn't even pointy.
ReplyDeleteYes, your pyramid isn't even pyramid shaped. But it is a nicer colour!
