The Darling Buds Of May Theme Song

Recently, whilst eating some lunch, I heard this theme tune coming from the sitting room. I think it's ITV3 who are re-running the 'Buds of May' series.

Regardless of whether one enjoys the programme or not, the theme tune is an amazingly evocative piece of music in it's own right. English countryside, birdsong, and sunshine; all is there.

  1. Sounds as if you are a little homesick.Where is home? Do you think of France or the UK as home?

    1. That's a good question. I've lived most of my life in France, but I suppose one's native country is always 'home'. Anyway, I prefer to be here.

    1. When I heard it yesterday, as I was having my lunch, it brought back wonderful memories to mind of English summers, and wheat harvests. Lovely tune.

    1. I presume you mean the TV show, and not the music.

    1. I'm not sure if I saw much of the TV show itself, but the music is very evocative.

    1. Yes, I do know it. I like the fact this this piece is so whimsical and summery, I find VM a little more serious and studied.

    1. The TV series is just a bit of nonsense about a mythical farming family and their children, etc. Fun if you have nothing better to do on a rainy afternoon.

    1. Yes, it summons beautiful images; which is what such music should do.
