The latest canine arrival at our tiny hamlet is this Alsatian 'puppy', called Marley.
Bok is already showing him the meaning of 'respect for your elders', and he's learning fast.
Like so many local dogs, he is free to roam around as he pleases; this doesn't worry us, but might some.
He's a nice friendly dog, and obviously likes to run with Bok. He's still at that bouncy spring-lamb stage, but will soon calm.
Another pleasant addition to our local dog population. Welcome Marley.
I would be one not liking dogs roaming around.
ReplyDeleteIt's very relaxed here, and they're all nice dogs.
DeleteMarley is going to be a big dog.
DeleteI expect so; I hope he stays friendly.
DeleteThe daffodils look good.
ReplyDeleteYes, still lots about.
DeleteLots of body language in that photograph!
ReplyDeleteThey both know their stations.
DeleteA big 'puppy'. I quite like the idea of dogs roaming around. There are some local people here I would prefer not to.
ReplyDeleteOur local gang are all nice dogs, and they all get-on with each other very well. I agree with you about the last bit.
DeleteRoaming dogs are alright if there aren't any animals or poultry around... new roamers down the lane have already killed several chickens which belonged to a neighbour, and last year we had a couple of hens taken by another roaming dog. Roaming dogs also like to harass the animals, although we are fortunately well fenced, but we did have a couple of roamers who came in the middle of the night to harass our sheep. Fortunately that was before the lambs were born. So, sorry Cro, but roaming dogs are alright if you don't have any livestock!
ReplyDeleteIt's OK, our hens have already been seen-to by next door's dogs; luckily the 3 miscreant beasts have now moved on. The only other local hens belong to Marley's owner, and are well fenced.
DeleteA friend's dog was nearly killed (but for the intervention of a very brave visitor) by several wolf dogs on the Island. They were with the owner but not on a leash. They have escaped from their compound a number of times terrorising people and sheep. One neighbour on Lewis allowed her dogs to roam and they used my garden as a toilet. I'm sorry. Dogs may be lovely but they may also be very unpredictable and anti-social. I'm not for them being free to roam.
ReplyDeleteNo Sheep around here, just a few Cows and Horses, and they can usually look after themselves. The local Dogs don't seem to take any notice of them.
DeleteMarley et Moi. He looks like a nice dog. I just hope that ghastly man with his vicious little dogs isn't still jogging about the area.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen him, but I rarely head over your way. It says on my map 'Here be Dragons'.
DeleteNo matter who you are,how old you are, it's always great to find a new friend.
ReplyDeleteBok loves having his friends round. They've become almost like 'family'.
