Lost In Space- Jupiter 2 Landing

Things used to be so much simpler.

In space you wore nice 'onesies', and the pilots didn't bother with seat belts, you let-off fireworks in the cockpit, and of course you took your pet monkeys with you.

You may have looked slightly anxious about landing on some unknown distant planet, but usually all went well; the doors would open, and you'd wander around looking for alien life.

You probably also had a pocket full of stringed beads to exchange for precious stones, metals, etc!

    1. Great isn't it! I was reminded about the TV series quite recently, and just had to post a clip.

  2. Thanks for that clip. We loved Lost in Space. Especially the relationship between Dr. Smith and Robot. I notice the females had a never-ending supply of Max Factor. An essential for space travel. :D

    1. Max Factor and Hairspray. Have things improved?

  3. Yes, back in the days when life was much simpler, and one of the crew was a hairdresser!

    1. Either that or the hairspray was thick varnish.

  4. I hate to be the one to burst your bubble but "Lost In Space - Jupiter 2 Landing" is mere fantasy - a drama created in some Hollywood studio. It is not news footage.

    1. I don't believe you; you couldn't create such genuine footage in a film studio.

  5. And today, Boeing seems to have stranded two adventurous flyers, orbiting the earth, waiting for a ride home.

    1. I hope they have TV up there, they could watch re-runs of 'Lost in Space'.

  6. I was with the monkey all the way. Cover your eyes or hide.
A simpler time in life, thank you my shoulders have relaxed a bit. I needed that.
Breaking news is all the rage now, even if they have to make it up.

    1. Nothing wrong with 'making-up news', as long as it's 'good news'.

  7. A bit to fantasy/fiction/Star Trek for me.

    1. I'm still not sure if it was supposed to be a comedy or not. I always found it funny.

  8. I loved Lost In Space, but viewed on an old and grainy b&w telly, the constant fascination by the family with going into dark and mysterious alien caves, knowing full well every episode they encountered some fearful alien, used to give me nightmares!

I've been off the airwaves but see you're having a lovely French summer again :)

    1. Hello P. I had wondered where you were!

It was a very bizarre series wasn't it. Were they supposed to be a 'family'? The scenery was always wonderful, and the acting awful. I think they should do a re-run!!!
