After just having posted some pictures of the flowers in 'The Peace Garden', this morning I found this.
Some idiot has taken an axe to this tree. Pure vandalism.
There really are some complete fu*king idiots around. There is no excuse for this type of hooliganism. These people need to be caught and taught a bloody good lesson!
What probably worries me most of all is that some nut-case is wandering around town with an AXE.
Your first post was so pleasant. The peace garden is full of delightful colour. And now this. Do you think the damage is enough to stop tree growth? It doesn't look too deep.
ReplyDeleteWho on earth was out there waving their little axe and why!!
No, it won't kill the tree, but why on earth would anyone do this. Completely manic.
DeleteMindless youth damage I suspect , they should be long gone by now
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they will. But one of them is walking around with an axe in his bag.
DeleteWhat ever did the trees do wrong? They have always stood by us like the best of friends.
ReplyDeleteI think my first comment went to Spam.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't do vanddalism when we were young, did we? What has changed that makes it almost expected and almost acceptable these days?
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit like keying cars. If someone else has something you don't have, then destroy it.
DeleteMindless vandalism, and it is worrying that someone is walking around wielding an axe.
ReplyDeleteHow right Weaver is with her comments.
I certainly never went around destroying things, or spraying on other people's walls.
DeleteMight be a tall beaver
ReplyDeleteIf only; sadly I think it's a tall idiot.
DeleteI'll lay a trap!
DeleteI also wondered this as the pieces left to lay are so small.
DeleteI am extremely depressed as my comments keep disappearing.
ReplyDeleteSo do some of mine.
DeleteIt is extremely sad to see that someone has senselessly damaged these trees. I would take a bit of black paint and paint over the damage. Closing the wound prevents disease.
ReplyDeleteI did think of that myself. We have a team of volunteers who look after the garden, so I expect they'll do something.
DeleteA tree next to my regular bus stop also has a section of bark cut off and just left laying on the ground. Fools and their knives eh?
